Exclamation 22nd pick and Rudy Fernandez to Raps for the 13th pick?

Quote:
The Raptors have had serious talks today with the Portland TrailBlazers about a deal that would send the 22nd pick and Rudy Fernandez to Toronto for the 13th pick. The Blazers have been very aggressive about getting up into the lottery, but have been reluctant to part with both Fernandez and the 22nd pick to do it.

It seems like any guy we could get at 13 is going to be a similar crapshoot as one we could possibly get at 22... do the deal, let wright walk, buy another pick.

Actually on second thought I'm not sure that this is such a good idea. The depth of Portland has hindered his development somewhat, right now I'm not sure that he is noticably better than belli. I dont like the effect this would have on the development of Derozan/Weems, let alone the damage it would do while trying to establish ourselves as a good defensive team.
I would rather keep our pick.

I'd do this. Its a deep draft for potential and fernandez can play. He's like what everyone on this forum wish's marco could be. I'm very biased towards euro's but i'd do this because i feel we can still get a good player at 22 even if they take some time to develope

Fernandez is Euro with some balls to his game. It's a move you make easily. The 13th pick in this draft doesn't mean as much in this draft. Especially if we're able to add another late pick we'll be good.

Yeah but what scares me off about Rudy is that he needs to have the ball in his hands to be effective. That won't happen in Toronto. If we could get rid of Turk and/or Calderon somehow than I'm for it. Otherwise it's just asking for trouble.

He also adds to our list of inconsistent, bad defensive players on our roster
