2015 Raptors (For OCD purposes)

Contract wise the team will be as follows:

PG-Lowry SG-Ross SF-Derozan PF-Johnson C-Valanciunas

PG-Vasquez SG-Fields SF-Novak PF-Hansbrough C-Patterson

Extras: C-Hayes

Exit: Salmons (Team Option), Stone (FA), Bucyks (FA), and possibly De Colo (FA)

Amir has a player option of $7 million which will certainly be picked up. Salmons also does at $7 million, I don't think any of us would pick that up, especially with the return of Fields who will be making 8.5 mil in his final year, and is a better younger defender.

The team will be at around $63 million dollars, assuming Lowry gets around 10.5 million a year. The 2014-15 salary cap is now projected to be $63.2 million and the tax level is projected to be $77.0 million giving us space to add another star, though I love the makeup of next years team and perhaps an upgrade on Novak could be in the works (Ariza?).

Lowry, Vasquez, and Patterson aren't under contract for next year.

bjjs 04-23-2014 04:34 PM

Wiggins will refuse to play for anybody but Toronto, and we will trade Ross for him straight up.

Next year's 8-man;

K-Low, Dede, Wiggsy, Amir, J
Bench: Grievis, Fields / 2Pat

The fact that Fields is going to make 8.5 million next year just make my stomach turn. We could have been a big player in free agency and turn into contenders this off season if it wasn't for his ridiculous deal.

Don't forget VC is coming home.

Don't think his cap hit is 8.5. I think the cap hit is spread equally on the duration of his contract, so there's a little more flex.

Not.

For more details. The cap # is still the original projection rather than the update, which is 63.2 M.

While it does suck, this year's free agent class isn't anywhere near as good as next year's, unless of course you thought we have a chance of bringing in Wade, Melo or LBJ. (although if we could somehow lure back CB it would be stellar for us)

Not a big deal at this point at all, he is huge expiring so could be useful in the trades. Also we are not too likely to be a big spenders in this FA anyway, keeping flexibility for 2015FA is much more important IMO. Hell I worry about Novak's contract more than I do about LF's

LET'S GO RAPTORS!!!!! 04-23-2014 10:09 PM

Same here. That extra year for 2016 just really kills it :/ :(

There is almost no doubt all three will be back though, and the latter two are restricted and have qualifying offers.

I still think Fields in underused, and if used properly is an absolute wildcard.

Excellent defender, rebounder, passer. Used to have a good shot and most likely will again if the nerve gets fixed in hand.

He was a HUGE impact in game 2, might not show up on scoresheet, but was makeing a big difference out there on the court.

Good point, but they're still not locked up.

Fields was amazing in game 2.

Joe Johnson without Fields on the floor:
16 points, +11

Joe Johnson with Fields on the floor:
2 points, -3

we will have at least 2 to 3 rookies not sure what's the salary for the 20ish pick but we will be above salary cap for sure

somebody must have given Wiggins free ticket to seat near raptors bench

I will not be surprise if this is one of Lieweke and MU's tactics

I mean plant a seed or something might help us down the road
