Big issue here is still the Raps will be lacking a serious game-changing type of player drafting three or worse. I can only cross fingers for Williams/Irving. But I don't see Knight being an all-star. He has serious questions in his ability to create space for himself with the dribble and set up his teammates.

Great point.

Its not all about the first contract you sign but about the ones you sign after that.

Going back to college and improving your game, learning the game, etc could help you get the next big contract. There are a lot of players drafted top 5/10 draft picks that get that one contract and that is it.

knight is destined to be a poor man's jrue holliday, IMO. i see bayless as a better option, but realistically neither is our point guard of the future. i still hold out hope we can get one of either irving or williams in the draft. if we end up with the third pick though, and barnes does not declare, trade that pick like it's hot.

I advocated trading the pick earlier in the year and some called me crazy..... hope we get Williams... cause trading it now won't net us value anyways. Tank nation led many of you astray.

There's still Irving, and Barnes (if he declares). Even Kanter or Jonas (preferable in my opinion).

Losing is part of the game, get over it.

I'm over it... I just think this draft has one player worthy of a top 5 pick... get over it.

Don't be upset cause you're excited for Irving.

As clever as you're trying to be, it's simply not working, and I'm not upset, just to let you know.

In fact, I'm not even a huge Irving fan. However, due to the team needs and the drafts depth he would be the first pick if we're lucky enough to get it.

Don't get upset just because your not always right.

trying to be clever? I was just responding to your overzealous comment... thinking you were the calm one. I'm clearly not always right, and judging by this back and forth, I'm not alone.

Overzealous? Poor choice of word.

My comment was simply pointing out that there is more then just one prospect in this draft, and that losing is part of the game. If noone ever finished last, then noone would ever finish first.

I'm calm, if I wasn't, I wouldn't be responding.

Your comments would dictate that this would be the case, no?

Overzealous is a poor choice of word, as at no point did I add excessive enthusiasm to my point. My comment was rather blunt actually.

I disagree. No biggie.

I still think there isn't much in this draft that will really help this team progress.... significantly.

That I can agree with, however, Barnes would help with our perimeter defense and our outside shooting.

Williams would help with our post defense, assuming we would run a 2-3 zone defense, and our inside scoring and rebounding.

Irving would help with our penetration scoring, as well as defense at the point guard position which we sorely lack.

Although there doesn't appear to be any superstars in this draft there are most definetly prospects that would help our team out in one way or another.

Irving is a superstar prospect and Williams has a very high ceiling. I think these two, with the production and skills they showed this season, would both be considered as potentially the number two prospect last season and are superior prospects to Turner [2], Favors [3], Johnson [4], and Cousins [5].

If the Raptors net either of them they add a player more skilled then any of their young core (excluding Bargnani). And for definitions sake, when I say "skilled" I mean, basketball acumen, playmaking ability, jumpshot, ballhandling and passing. Demar remains a superior athlete however.

I am not critiquing Irving or Williams, they are top notch, but the top five has been depleted so the balls better fall right.

I agree 100%. I think Irving is very overrated, and will take a few seasons to even begin to be a threat in the NBA. He was out for almost a full season, and I don't think he'll be ready for the league. I think he is ranked so high based potential. He will be a good point guard in the league, I do not think he will be great. This draft class is very weak, I would like to land Austin Rivers in next years. In a sense, I am hoping we tank just to get that kid, he's got D-Rose and John Wall potential..Absolute monster.
