Default 2010 Raptors picks

i understand that the Raptors included our first round pick this year in the JO marion trade with miami and if we make the playoffs we lose the pick. im not hoping for the Raptors to fall out of playoff contention so they get the pick, however there are some interesting talents in the draft.

say if they do not make the playoffs, they would be in position for a mid-first round pick. and if we do get this pick, who should we draft? and if we do make the playoffs and lose the pick, should we try and obtain a first round pick through trade? keep in mind that the Raptors do have 2 second-round picks this year

i really like damian james from texas. he's an outstanding rebounder at the three (can also play the four) spot and can defend on the perimeter as well as block shots. he's very quick and can get up and down the floor. i think he would be a great fit for the Raptors (like marion)

i aslo like hassan whiteside from marshall (a defensive centre), but he will probably get drafted top 10

The type of player BC drafts is dependent on what happens with Chris Bosh this summer. Tough to determine a proper fit until we know what's going on with Bosh.

Why would we draft a SF, or a PF for that matter. The only thing we should even consider is a C. This team has enough PF even if Bosh goes, we need to move Andrea to PF spot and draft a real C to rebound and block, and maybe next year we wont be so defensively terrible. Plus you cant move Turk , no team would trade for what is considered the biggest bust in years, and this team cant afford him to sit on the bench.

turkoglu's lack of play is exactly why we should try to fill the 3 spot. especially if the guy can fill what we lack, which is rebounding and defense
and like i posted above, the only defensive centre would be hassan whiteside and he would most likely be top 10

Don't underestimate a 2nd round drafted big man.

Amir Johnson, Paul millsap, Andray blatch etc.

Take the best player available regardless of position, otherwise you end up with a 7 foot stiff like Thabeet or Araujo. This team has so many holes, it doesn't even matter what position the best guy is. Take him and shift the roster accordingly.

If Cole Aldrich dropped down into the 15 range, I'd take him, there's Udoh from Baylor, a 4/5 type, Patterson from Kentucky, another 4/5 type. Xavier Henry from Kansas could be the answer on the wing. All these guys are underclassmen.

It's protected until 2013 or 14.

They get a 2nd rounder, not sure if that's in 2010. The 1st rounder is lottery protected through 2014.

think about this
it might be good to give up our pick this year cause if we continue to suck the pick in 2014 might be valuable

we should only be looking C's because andrea is just terribad on the defensive side, he needs to be moved to PF when Bosh leaves so that he resembles dirk.
