Next up in our 2010-11 RF Player Report Cards:

Julian Wright

Could possibly be a good role player on a playoff team, but turned out to be a bad bench warmer with the Raps. Add to that the insult of refusing to enter a game, and JuJu was pretty disappointing.

I liked his defense, and his instincts as something of a point forward at times. And then as he earned more minutes his effectiveness on both ends suffered. He was probably another player that wasn't helped by trying to take on a bigger role.

Has some tools, as evidenced by his ability to play the point forward... kind of. Capable defender. Didn't leave much of an impression on me though. Most memorable moment came when he apparently refused to enter a game. Pardon me while I yawn. He'll be an afterthought in Raptor's lore.

D. as in D league.

Give me back Marco Belinelli

Fools gold. There's a reason why he hasn't received consistent minutes to date on the two teams he's been on.

there were a few games this season where he came out on fire.... showed fantastic D, hustle, and passion..... then he'd get burried on the bench again and we'd forget all about him.

he's a forgetable player who offers a few flashes of stellar play once every 20 games.... then he fades away and you forget he's around.

funny enough, if we werent doing these report cards, i would have forgot he was on the team.

Grade: grade? for who?

Now it's your turn, RF. Let us know what you thought of Julian Wright in 10-11.

Coming up next - Linas Kleiza

C

He was high energy and really should have played more, especially with injuries to Kleiza and with Weems missing over a month. Awful offensively, but a hard working defender. The guy competes when he's on the floor. His refusal to come into a game later in the season was out of frustration but was extremely unprofessional.

A D leaguer. and quoting Fancylad i think Belinelli is happier where he is

In 2009, Colangelo stole Belinelli from the Warriors for a dude called Devean George. Guess what goes around comes back around?

Are you saying that you wouldn't still do the Belinelli/Jack for Bayless/JuJu deal?

Beans 07-20-2011 11:34 AM

D-.

He was paid 2.8 million for doing what he did this year. :confused2:

2.8Mil to not be used. Not saying the guy is an all-star or anything but on a team like this that doesn't play defense, often looked disinterested and were decimated by injury he should have played more then he did. Which was the sentiment around here until his incident with Triano.

6cubed 07-20-2011 11:51 AM

Most overrated defender on this team

That wasn't the deal. It was Marco Belinelli for Julian Wright, which I didn't like too much at the time and don't feel much better about it now.

DanH 07-20-2011 12:42 PM

C. I expected nothing and got right around exactly that.

Guy can defend, can't score, his passing and dribbling abilities were less than expected, or overhyped to start.

js12 07-20-2011 12:45 PM

His playmaking abilities were definitely overrated. I remember when Jerryd Bayless was the only avaliable PG at the end of the season and Wright had to play backup PG. He was terrible, he had difficulty crossing his own half court if the defence had a bit of pressure.

Superjudge 07-20-2011 12:52 PM

F

Don't care who you are. You NEVER refuse to go in.

Cut him.

halphbreedballer 07-20-2011 03:07 PM

Ulian Wright should be his name because he has no J!

I gave him an F, But he really needs to get a J.

Tommy C 07-21-2011 01:27 AM

F - good D at times, poor offense, but his refusal to enter the game, out of frustration really stands out. Not acceptable.

RaptorsFan4Life 07-21-2011 01:32 AM

IDK how you guys can take shit away for him not going into the game. He was easily the most underrated raptors last season. He goes out has like 10 good games in a row then they bench him and give him time only in blow out games. If I was in his position I'd do the same thing.

I gave him a B, he did he job and well when he did get a change. People commenting on his O have tor realize he did do fairly well at running the team (at PG) when people got hurt...

Admiral 07-21-2011 09:12 AM

i gave him a C

but his evaluation is kind of inconclusive because he didn't play enough consistent minutes to evaluate him

We don't know why he got benched. no one knows what's going on in practice.

I just wanted to give someone an E.
Seriously, E?
Didn't the grading go
A - 80+
B - 70-79
C - 60-69
D - 50-59
F - sub 50.
Where did E come from? lol

Dark Knight 07-21-2011 12:40 PM

I'll give him a G.
