You guys are easily impressed no doubt.. Not even Ed would say that was an A...
Compared to other rookies? he held his own against Griffin, in fact he dominated griffin if I remember correctly.

While he certainly isn't an A, it's just as absurd to say he's a C. When you look at his double doubles, rebounding and just overall awareness on Defense he deserves better then C. Hell, when he started this season he averaged a double double and he missed training camp + first 5 weeks of the season. He's had american journalists saying he was the steal of his draft class.

I sincerely hope our starting lineup will be Bayless/DeRozan/Kleiza/Davis/Valancuinas in two-to-three seasons time. That is, unless Bargs somehow manages to stop being lazy.

Also, I agree with a B+; if he hadn't of missed the first 17 games and put up similar production, he very likely would have been on the all-rookie team and therefor more deserving of an A- or A.

Oh thanks for refreshing my memory.. Ed certainly did that.. on ONE night, which makes up exactly one of an eighty-two game schedule. Ed didn't win the rookie of the year, he wasn't even close and neither did he make the all rookie first team. Had he done any of that you could cry for perfection, or near perfection, which is exactly what rating it an A+/A is.. Also, just out of curiosity if Jonas Valanciunas were to come here and average 7 points/7 rebounds in 24 minutes next season would you rate his season as a a perfect rookie campaign?

READ ---> UNDERSTAND ---> COMMENT

At no time did I say Ed was a C..

I simply indicated that his rookie campaign was a lot closer to average than it was extraordinary. He was inconsistent, decent, not great on defense and below average on offense.

B
I think he did what was expected of him in his shortened season. Played solid for a rookie campaign and his team defence is good. Unfortunately having a role players role on a crappy team only allows you so much of a ceiling unless you are a top pick. I think his progress will showcased in DC's system. Brenda Haywood looked good for the Mavs and I have to believe that ED is better than him.

Depends what you thought Davis would do before the season. Was he better than Griffin or other top rookies? No Did people actually think he would be? No

Davis did way better then I thought he would do and I even wanted the Raptors to draft him. Coming off a injury Senior year, hurt before the season, came in right away and made a impact. Pretty good I must say. Next year expectations will be higher so he better have a big season if he wants to get a A again.

I guess he also got one double double all season? Are you expecting him to come in and average 25 points and 15 rebounds off the bench and off an injury.. as a rookie? No, fuck no. How is he going to score when Bargnani is spoon fed every shot? No plays were run for him, he had to score off offensive rebounds and put backs.

Also, a lot of great PF's come into the league and have those kinds of numbers.. so don't bring up statistics.

I really think that playing as well as he did, playing on this team after missing so many games and all of training camp warrants recognition. It wasn't an easy task. He showed me a lot, and if you start with an A, I don't see where he gets docked on anything of his own accord.

I'll give Davis a solid B!

He got better as the season went on, & not many rookies can ever say that

B.

He didn't get re-injured. He didn't seem to be intimidated by other teams as some rookies are. He got noticeably better as the year progressed. He'll probably thrive next year under a defense oriented coach.

He seemed to have a "revenge based" motivation where he wanted to destroy teams that passed him over in the draft (like the Clippers). I hope he develops a more goal based motivation to get 40 double-doubles or something.

He's a fun guy to root for.

I don't remember this guy ever having a bad game all year. Every time I looked at the box score he had put up solid numbers in his time given.

Amir Johnson is my favourite Raptor, and I still want Ed to start over him. Amir and Ed have the same nack for the ball and the same hustle, but Ed has more potential and more talent.

What a steal this was.

and lol@ being compared to Jonas, Ed was a 13th pick, Jonas a top 5.

if he averaged a double double when given significant minutes 28-30mpg like Davis did i'd call it a great rookie campaign. BTW, who said he had perfect rookie season? If you think Jonas comes in his first season and it's a given he'll be a double double machine, you're probably kidding yourself. Especially since he probably won't be starting.

He kicked ass against the Blazers. Of course, only time I got to see him because the NBA hates putting Raptor games on TV for some reason.

He's a B. he did well, not awesome. He was blue chip in college, he should be doing what he did. I don't even look at his numbers, I look at his demeanour on the floor. The guy is a "player".

An example of an A for me... Jose Bautista. He got an A when i got grade his last few seasons.

Also... come on guys, A, B, C, D, or F.

Forget the + and - 's ok. Thats silly.

i gave him a B

considering he didn't have any preseason and in college he barely played either, the guy came in and fit in very well
he showed very good hustle and rebounding skills that we are really lacking
but in terms of skilled moves he really needs to develop, and that FT% is terrible, everything he's doing right now is based a lot on athleticism and raw abilities
he hasn't shown any consistency yet
but for just coming in at a lower draft pick he did good
no As allowed unless you play like an allstar

he was certainly better than 13th best rookie!? Name 12 better rookie last season......

C means average, he was better than that.
