Here's a question for you, who's expectations are we using?

He met my expectations, and that gives him an A in my books.

For the lie of me, I cannot see how meeting expectations, as far as evaluations go, could mean a c. A C value in any grading systemn is below 70. Which, fo ran athlete, it fucking terrible.

These are silly threads.

"He met my expectations, and that gives him an A in my books."

What if Jose exceeded your expectations? Like if he played GODLIKE throughout the whole season?

I agree SJ... any way that Voskuhl can get an A and Bosh can get a D is completely ridiculous.

All of the All-stars voted in by coaches deserve an A.

exactly.

How can a guy like Calderon, who gets praise everywhere but on Toronto messageboards, get a fucking d?

He's a top 10 pg in the league. No player, anywhere, ever, in any sort, is evaluated on his injuries.

All of you guys ripping him for being hurt are hilarious. It's a fault to get hurt?

Silly.

No but because of his injuries he didn't live up to the player we needed. And BTW if you say if met your expectations how can you give him a A because A stands for greatly exceeded exectations and I doubt he did that in anyones mind

The grading system in the thread says a D is not meeting expectations, so that's what I gave the guy.
I expect the dude to play. It's not like his injury was caused by getting slammed to the ground or something. If his conditioning were better or he weren't taxing his body playing for free all summer, then maybe the hamstring pull could have been prevented. Same for Bosh. Would his knee have been as bad if he'd rested it? Who knows, but it's up to these guys to either not get injured so often or perform despite it. Part of being a pro is maintaining your body. The Raptors over-all conditioning seems to be lacking to me.
When Jose is healthy he does his job and more. He can't do his job if he's not on the floor. Most teams sink or swim with their point guard.

LOL I know. That's why anything that can rank Voskuhl an A and Lebron/Wade/Kobe/Dwight all C's or D's... is a terribly flawed system.

Jeez, so much drama over this measuring system lol. How about instead of A/B/C/etc we use a rank from 1 to 10, whereas 1 is the lowest and 10 is the highest score.

Dude, really? You sound like a tight-assed senior. We're forumers - not international scouts.

I get it. But seeing Bosh/Calderon with C's and D's and then going to the trade forum and seeing trade proposals for other players who are actually C's and D's makes it frustrating @ times lol. oh well.. not one of my best days.

Okay... some of you people fail to realize the poll is NOT asking to grade a player overall. It's simply asking to grade a player's (in this case Jose) performance based on this season. Albeit he could've simply stated "A" as being the highest grade to "F" being the lowest.

I feel you. The rankings are all relative though. A C for Bosh is essentially more impactful than a C for say, Kris Humphries, just because the expectations for Bosh are that much higher. And because Kris Humphries is a goofball.

Silly.

When does a man have to actually own up to his responsibilities?

I know when my body is hurt. I know when I go out and play and I'm not 100% and I'm playing hurt, I'm taking a risk that I'm likely not going to be the same player because I don't want to hurt myself further. Many times I've manned up and said, sorry, I wasn't there, I didn't play well, I'm trying but I'm hurt. Usually, I say, fuck it, I gotta rest.

Now, why does Jose get pass? He KNEW he was hurt, yet decided to come back early and I'd argue hurt the team in the process. Why shouldn't he be judged based on that performance? A player doesn't get evaluated when he sits out due to injury. A player DOES get evaluated when he plays, says he's fine but obviously isn't.

Oh, and if you don't like these threads, then stay outta them. And take the "holier than thou" route. It's cool. But then I gotta ask, if you're criticizing guys on message boards, why do you come here? It's a legit question.

Giving him a D is rediculous.

You muppets.

Jose would be the first person to tell you this season was a big dissapointment for him personally.

Moreso, he wouldn't use the injury as an excuse because he shouldn't.

eat it.
