Bargnani is bench player on a good team with one single role: spark. He's a 7 foot Eddie House.
I really wonder if BC knows how to do this.

If he doesn't, I hope to hell that he figures it out soon because if I have to watch another 5+ years of this crap I may go insane.

I think it's really easy to jump on a guy when he's struggling and not just for a few games, but for a month or so. Also, watching Jose go 2 for 15 and DeRozan go the whole third while almost perfect from the floor and not get a shot attempt until the dying seconds of the quarter is enough to make you want to throw stuff at the TV. Fortunately, I don't have as much invested in the outcome of these games as some of you other guys seem to. To me, this year is nothing more than the beginning of a process that is long overdue. It's frustrating, but you need to look at the bigger picture. This team is probably a few years away from being a playoff team, we're rebuilding and it is what it is. Also, if you think for one second the management and even the coaching staff are somehow blind to this certain individuals weaknesses, you're fooling yourself.

bargs is a very good role player, that is all. why is it that everyone has to bash him as if he was an allstar playing un-allstar-like?
the guy is averaging roughly the same amount of rebounds he has averaged his entire career. its funny that people are actually surprised by his rebounding numbers... they have always been crap, what were you expecting this season?
he's upped his scoring, and his rebounds have stayed the same... yet he sucks?
it doesnt make sense.
did anyone really expect him to be an allstar? because its as if that is what he is being compared to.
he is a good role player, period. why are we crucifying him as if he was a star? he never was, and he never will be.

Lol... all I heard over the past 2 years or so is how great Bargs is... how much potential he has... how Bosh was "holding him back".... how Reggie and Bosh were "stealing all of his rebounds"... how he was "the next Dirk"... how he'd be a surefire all-star this year... how amazing he was with his 1-on-1 defense... blah, blah, blah....

... so yeah... I'd say that it's pretty fair to say that A LOT of people here were boosting him on a regular basis.

To be perfectly honest, he's stealing money from this franchise just like Hedo did.... he SHOULD be making less money than Amir. Guy is just lucky that he's 7ft tall.

we need to face the fact that smitchell was the right coach for bargs. he wouldn't do the work on defense so he was forced to come off the bench. triano throws him into the fire when all he knows how to do is score and this is what happens.

we've seen this guy develop for 5 years now, i think its safe to say this is the type of player he is. he reminds me of a 7 foot jamal crawford. nothing more than a 6th man. the fact that he is such a liability on the defensive end really makes him nothing more than a bench player. even if we brought in a tyson chandler he still needs to guard his position and i doubt he would be able to do that.

he is nothing more than a SG trapped in a C body

bargnani = 21.2 points per game (18th in the league)...his defense may be shit, but atleast he is contributing in some sort of way. cant say that about most of the players on this team.

BC and Triano said during training camp that Bargnani is the only player on this team who isn't fighting for a starting spot and has guaranteed minutes.

He's been encouraged to shoot 20 + shots a game.

Yes he might be a role player in the end, but in no way is he being used as a role player right now.

He is the face of the franchise, and he has been pushed as such all season by the coaching staff and management. They aren't selling him as a role player, they're selling him as a all-star.

That being established. It's fair to scrutinize him as such. When the 7 foot "best player on the team" as Reggie would say, isn't living up to the hype, he deserves his fair share of criticism. When he's pulling down similar rebounding numbers to a sg, that's most likely going to be talked about on a basketball forum.

Their has been no indication that this team is going to divert from featuring Bargnani as it's premier player. That should be concerning for anyone who has doubts about his ability as that player.

honestly that is just straight up pathetic for a starting center averaging 35.5 mpg

JT needs to grow some balls and bench him, honestly theres absolutely no reason a 7 footer cant grab 7-8 boards a game its just a matter of lack of hustle.

i, among others, were optimistic that his numbers would go up with CB4 leaving and then Reggie being out for most of the season, but cmon man!!!

we should pair Bargnani with the Miami pick and see what we can get in return
