Default Wrestlemania XXV Houston

Anyone going to watch it?

The Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels is really the only event that seems worthy of watching and Matt Hardy vs Jeff hardy in a extreme rules match.

Wrestlemania still exists? Why? Oh let me guess, the ratings are high?

I can't belive anyone still watches this crap. Then again i ask the same question about Jerry Springer, Maury Pauvich, Dr. Phil and many other forms of so called entertainment.

It's interesting to see what the WWE has become.

Though, there isn't really any competition at all to push them so you can't be surprised. TNA is absolutely atrocious. One of their wrestlers, performing under an Arab-American gimmick, compared on national television that the USA was like a concentration camp and that there was a Holocaust going on in the present day. That's just disgusting.

WWE will continue to float around until either TNA or ROH become big or Vince McMahon resigns his position and gets on with life.

I can say that I only spend about 20 minutes a week watching a wrestling match or two now a days. However, in the late 90's I use to watch every single event. The WWE took a new turn in going PG. So now there is no bra and panties matches, hardcore matches, and swearing.

It used to be World Wrestling Federation. However, the abbreviation was already taken by the World Wildlife Foundation. Apparently the wildlife foundation filed a lawsuit against Vince and they threatened to sue Vince if Vince didn't change the company name.

I just remembered that when the WWE was in town at the ACC last year they showed Kris Humphries, Anthony Parker, and TJ Ford sitting ringside and Edge who is a Toronto native went to go give them a high five before he entered the ring. Also the 05 Pistons entire team went to WWE Raw show and sat ringside as well.

The WWE and NBA seem to part well together. Here are some other few incidents I've seen.

-Ric Flair at Hornet's games. Also, everytime the hornets hit a three the annoucner plays a tune that goes woooooooooooh!

-There was a backstage segment at the WWE where Shaq came behind wreslter Carlito and hit him on the back with a steal chair.

-Dennis Rodman wrestled Karl Malone in a tag team match along side Hulk Hogan and Diamond Dallas page.

-Shaq was involved in a backstage segment with Vince McMahon

- When Shaq was ringside at an event he was about to come into the ring to face another wrestler.

-The entire Pistons team bought replica World Wrestling titiles and wore them at a pre-game show.

Jeff, don't be ignorant.

Anyway, I can't believe this will be number 25. That makes me feel incredibly old. The buyrate will be high as usual. I used to order it every year but...60 freakin' bucks.

Do you really think that professional sports aren't predetermined as well? Or given a push too. Man, if you don't like it, stay outta the thread. Simple enough right?

Anyways, pro wrestling died the day ECW died. Not that new crap that is passed for ECW, but the original ECW. The crowds were absolutely awesome and the performers put on a show.

ROH is the only one that has me really interested as it really reminds me of ECW in it's infancy. I mean, CM Punk (who is being destroyed in the WWE) was the greatest heel in 2006. His feud with Raven was classic. Just go to Youtube to look up some of his promos against Raven. Also his epic contests with Samoa Joe were just superb. I hope Nigel McGuiness doesn't pick up and leave too.

And the Attitude days of WWE were awesome simply because of the unpredictability. The feuds had emotion. What you see today, is really a watered down version of the 80s, with John Super Cena as Hogan, Triple H as Ric Flair and Batista as Andre. It's a pathetic show.

I'll be watching Wrestlemania, mostly b/c I get it for free
if I had to pay $60 as some mentioned, I wouldn't spend the dough
Wrestling has lost some of its entertainment value in the past years
I just hope Michaels doesn't win
and Orton beats HHH

A lot of these guys aren't good wrestlers anymore.
They're all roided up and can't move
but there are still some good wrestlers
