Jeff, this is why I think you are honestly at a Grade 6 level intelligence.

I'll break it down for you:

You: Say wrestling sucks, it's about roided up freaks etc.

Me: I say WWE sucks but enjoy other brands such as ROH. I say WWE is a pathetic show.

Do you see the difference? I enjoy the spectacle and am at least commenting on it, while offering some reasons why. You my, dense friend, simply offer, "it sucks" etc. In fact, I offered reasons as to why I think the present day version of WWE is pathetic.

Really, you read through the post, sorry, skimmed through it, and didn't really comprehend what I wrote. It's something you commonly do. It's alright though. The day you offer ANYTHING of substance, I'll finally actually pay attention to you.

I just hope Michaels doesn't win
and Orton beats HHH

A lot of these guys aren't good wrestlers anymore.
They're all roided up and can't move
but there are still some good wrestlers
I just finished watching Undertaker vs Shawn Michaels and it was a sick match!

Personally, I don't really give a damn about all the new talent. However, I did watch Taker vs Michaels which was a classic match. However, I'm not going to even bother watching the rest of Wrestle mania.

I agree that Wrestling has taken a serious nose-dive in the past 10 years... the last time it was any good was when the WWE had "The Rock", "Stone Cold" & Angle carrying their shows. Those guys understood that the show was more about crashing through tables and doing extreme stunts. It was about the interview.... the charisma... the persona... engaging the crowd. The guys now have none of that. I find guys like Cena and Batista boring as hell.

Some of my favourite memories of wrestling didn't come in the ring.. they came from the segments on "Piper's Pit" or "Adrian's Flower Shop" etc, etc... Gave the guys a chance to hone their mic skills.

There's also too much emphasis on selling sex these days. Bra & panties matches? Divas matches?? Are you kidding me? Those women are PATHETIC. Give me Wendy Richter, The Fabulous Moolah and the "Jumping Bomb Angels" any day of the week. THOSE girls could wrestle.

Lastly, WAY too many PPV events now. They push storylines too quickly and work the wrestlers too hard.

The WWE was best when you only had the 4 "majors".... Wrestlemania (Spring), Summerslam (Summer), Survivor Series (Fall) & Royal Rumble (Winter). Back then they used to develop a storyline for a good 6-8 months so that by the time the match finally rolled around you were just salivating... part of the reason that matches like Hogan/Warrior and Savage/Steamboat created so much emotion among the fans.

But.... it's a business... and Vince killed his only real competition. What are you gonna do?

2 guys that I still like? The Undertaker is still an old-school throwback who knows how to entertain the fans.. and for that I'll always love him.

Randy Orton is probably the only "new-school" guy that I'll watch if he's on. Great character. He plays the heel perfectly.

Cena and Batista are boring as hell.
Storylines are weak now
I like Undertaker and Orton as well
I don't see them selling sex, at least in the ring. women never fight much.
If you watched Wrestlemania you know that a man won the battle royal

The real problem with WWE lies with HHH. The guy is so unbelievably boring but has been smart enough to maintain the top spot in the company and holds onto it obsessively by being a major influence on the booking and by holding back and burying any sort of young talent that might be coming up. When he's a face, no one gives a crap because they don't have any sort of passion for the guy like people had for Steve or Dwayne. When he's a heel, he refuses to be made to look the fool, which is what you have to do to be a good heel. No one gives a shit about him and a guy like that being the top guy in the top company is THE worst thing for pro wrestling. Apparently, the crowd was silent during the Orton/HHH match last night. The crowd was silent for the last match of the biggest show of the year. It's nothing new though - it's always been that way with him. It's like, does he not notice this? Does Vince not notice this?

Yeah, he's always been this way though. I find it fascinating that whenever he's out with an injury, Hunter will use his buddy Shawn as a placeholder. Happen's everytime.

From all accounts, Vince stopped caring about his business a few years ago.

HBK vs. Undertaker was good
the Hardy's fight and Money in the bank were okay, except for the fact that CM Punk won
the rest sucked
I hate Cena and HHH, good thing Batista wasn't there to win something

007, who won?

and i'm going to have to agree with Claud on this one...
after reading jeffs posts i was a bit offended. i used to like wrestling 10 years ago and it holds a special place in my heart as a kid. if you have nothing good to say, why even post anything? just leave your negative comments out and dont post anything if you are going to talk shit about it.
if you are to talk shit, at least give a good reason and post your opinion.
theres nothing worse than a 1 sentence response calling it fake and roided out.
thats just taking the easy way out - and doesnt provide any substance.... it just reaks of doucheness.
whatever.

Terrific post and I agree completely.

At the end of Bret Hart's book he blames both HBK and HHH for the new business direction and I agree completely with him.

HHH is what, a 13 time champion? It's ridiculous, absolutely, positively ridiculous. It reminds me of when Jeff Jarrett ran TNA and always booked himself to win the championship. The crowd absolutely hated it and ended up legimitately hating him.

It's funny, the "clique" truly has gotten what they originally wanted. Control over the wrestling business.

ROH's new programming seems very promising though.

It's a real throwback to the 70's and the real wrestling programming that existed then. No stupid storylines or extra-curricular nonsense. Just use the show to build the main event, keep the focus on the titles and introduce your talent to the audience. They're doing an exceptional job.
