So, since there is a baseball and hockey thread, Ill start a soccer thread to talk about anything related to soccer.
As a presentation Ill post what IMO is the best goal ever, not only because how beautiful it was, also because how important it was. Championsleague finals. Last edited by Dr. J. Naismith; 02-13-2008 at 10:48 AM. |

cool. good thread belsius.
Since i really only follow premiership (and a little bit of french league, and serie A) at the current moment i'll say that everything seems to be going swimingly with Lyon right now. Can't say the same for my Reds (LIverpool), while it's good to have Juventus back in the big league. Oh, and i really can't wait for the MLS season to get underway (hating the offseason so far). (BTW.. nice Zidane goal.... my favorite player of all time!) |

I dont follow the french league, like the potuguese league, It seems like theres always one team thats really good, and the rest are pretty bad. Lyon is a really good team, although this year they are not playing very arent they? at least in champions league when I saw them, they didnt , they always play good against madrid though. Juninho is a great player, one of the best shooters in the world if not the best.
About the english league, is good to see Torres has found his place there, I never liked the kid, but hes plying really well there. I like arsenal much more, Cesq is going to be the best midfielder in the world if he keeps this pace. But I think manchester has the best team. BTW Bolton is playing atletico de madrid tomorrow at 3 pm ET in UEFA in what should be a really good game. If you can, watch it. Here are a couple of websites where you can watch games: http://myp2p.eu/ http://www.rojadirecta.com/ EDIT. I meant portuguese league in the first sentence. Goooo Chelsea and FC Bayern München. I'm a Schweinsteiger, Klose, Podolski and the reason why I follow Chelsea now is because of Ballack.

And i do like Rafa Benitez quite a bit. There have just been a lot of injuries this year - and some players have been incosistent (Kuyt for one). but yeah... ever since Christmas, they have folded like a cheap suit. |

Closest I ever came close to even caring about Soccer was....I was visiting Scotland...and my grandfather and dad are both big Celtic fans...Celtic were playing the Rangers at the time, and little did I know I was in a "celtic" bar...so in my attempt to rebel against my forfathers I began openly cheering for the Rangers..
...long story short...not a good idea.. ....A little bit ofrunning down the streets of Glasgow and I was back at my Aunts safe and sound. ![]() |

haha benzo you twat!!!
Why would you even consider that?!?!? Hopeless! Your lucky yo have gotten out of there alive mate. At least you can say you learned a valuable lesson! As for the games today...i watched the Liverpool-Milan game....liverpool was freakin hopeless with the extra man for most of the time....i was kinda disgusted that it took them so long to score... The sending off though was very very harsh and shouldnt have happened....they can count their lucky stars tonight (errm but then again, they alwasy seem to). I was watching the madrid-roma game but watching a second game in a row with an italian team is equivalent to watching 9 hours of Barney...i just couldnt handle it.. Italian football is by far the most boringest ever...i dont care how good they are, id rather watch curling with russ howard or whoever haha. Belsius, at least we can agree on the fact that we both HATE italian soccer! |
