I think Bmats would be the only person to put Essien amongst the top midfielders in the world right now. He's a good player, but not up there whatsoever. Amazing.

Maybe you only look at the flash of an attacking midfielder. Name me 3 defensive midfielders better than essien.

You mean in Toronto no?

Very probable, they make a lot of money out of those games. Maybe its a the same time of the Zidane thing since Zizou is going to become a personal adviser of the new president.

Is anyone going to the Zidane friendly in TO? Lowest ticket prices were $55.

However, if Real comes, I'll pay top dollar to see that.

i'll see if the ticket prices go down myself. Otherwise, probably not.

As for Madrid coming, seasons ticket holders are really pissed off because MLSE is not including it in their packages, and word is they will charge "premium ticket prices" for the match.

haha. MLSE is such a shit owner when it comes this team.

I think it's in June. Not 100% sure though.

I don't feel any sympathy for season ticket holders. Most of them can put up their tickets for games they don't attend and sell it for a very inflated price.

I think this way everyone has an equal oppourtunity to attend the game.

I'm so tired of arguing with you that I won't bother any longer. The fact that you say I'm interested in the flash of a player proves you haven't read a damn thing I have said in this thread.

I like the blue for Arsenal. AC Milan's doesn't seem to have changed.

I think they introduced a collar into the mix. Villa's new threads are spiffy, as are Arsenal's.

Here's the Madrid/TFC news
Quote:
All signs are pointing to a Spanish summer in the GTA, at least as far as Toronto FC are concerned.

Plans are nearing completion for one of the world’s biggest soccer clubs to visit BMO Field, as Real Madrid are set to be unveiled in the next few days as TFC’s opponents for a friendly match to be played on Friday, Aug. 7.

The nine-time European champions will be travelling to North America for a two-game series against Major League Soccer opposition, with a game in Washington against D.C. United – announced yesterday – to take place on Sunday, Aug. 9, two days after the visit to Toronto.

As a result, the originally scheduled fixture against the New York Red Bulls has been moved from Aug. 9 to Saturday, June 13, which Paul Beirne, TFC’s senior director of business operations, confirmed yesterday.

Toronto FC will also be installing a temporary grass surface on top of the artificial turf at BMO Field to accommodate the 31-time Spanish league champions, although whether that surface will remain in place for the remainder of TFC’s MLS schedule is not known.

Ticket prices have also yet to be confirmed, although Toronto FC are said to be pursuing another opponent for a second exhibition game to fulfill their one-game commitment to season ticket holders, enabling the Real Madrid tickets to be sold at a premium, and not inclusive of season ticket packages.

i'm guessing that the second friendly match (the free one) will be against the Hamilton Steelers old timers, or maybe against the York University mens team.

As for the temporary grass option, the better take out the "temporary" moniker and at least keep it till the end of the year. Then next year they can properly plant the real thing.

ac milan has sold gourcoff to bordeaux. They should seriously look at some of the moves they are doing. They need younger players but they keep saying they want older players. If they sell Kaka, they will have to go into full rebuild mode.

My team is going without a major sponsor logo this year as a celebration of our 125 years of existence. The fans had a decision in choosing the jersey too. Different but i'm liking it. Looking forward to beating Newcastle and Middlesborough this upcoming season! BLUEARMY!!
