Also fancy, Lampard claimed Chelsea could've scored more than the 3 that they did. And shitty news about Gerrard as well.
yeah b/c Drogba missed them all

I've heard from man u people that If C.ronaldo leaves, they are going to try to get ribery on that wing from bayern... but ribery's also been rumoured to go to Juve.

Chelsea missed out on their chance @ ronaldinho... but I see them getting rid of deco, ballack and maybe even joe cole this summer if they can pick him up and they complete the transfer for quaresma.
Cristiano Ronaldo will be gone at the end of the season - teams are still going to throwing a ton of money United's way for him. United can use that money to shore up the back end.

Chelsea needs to start selling off some of their players - they're losing money hand over fist.

Portugal has some of the best stadiums and attendence.. so what's your point? That means nothing to me - especially regarding gameplay.

Italy is definitely higher than Germany or France.

I don't think Man U needs Ribery
they have the best young talent in the Premier League

Ballack is going to retire soon, he's 32
especially if Chelsea wins the Champs League
I could see him going back to Germany but I don't think they'll get a lot of money considering they got him for free

And I thought Kaka wanted to remain at AC Milan? See, this is why I dislike both Barcelona and Real Madrid. They're need to spend insane amounts and build all star teams.
Barcelona needs to spend a lot of money? they make the best young players in the world. Messi, Cesq, Xavi, Puyol, Iniesta, Bojan, Busquests, Pique. All have been there since they have been like 12 or before.

Real Madrid is really good but due to pathetic direction they get rid of those players and spend an insane amount of money on players that are really not that much better.

Theres a reason the english teams are currently the best ones. They are the one that spend the most money on building all star teams. All that money comes from foreign owners.
Thats the merit of Barcelona, they have combined their own players with foreign some foreign players. But still the core of that team are Xabi, Iniesta, Puyol and Messi with Guardiola as a coach. All of them have been part of Barsa all their life.

And while I completely hate Italys soccer, they are still much better than germany. You can see what Bayern got yesterday. Do you think Barcelona could dominate a team like Milan or Chelsea like that?

Yes, they have been with Barca all their life, I agree, but also they have the ability to outspend the other clubs for the young talent. They see the up and coming and kids and offer far more than many clubs are willing to. It's a sad reality of football. It's still because of their ridiculous riches. Also, I've never been a fan of Barcelona so my opinion may be biased.

Real Madrid always searches for band aid solution rather than developing players. What was the last true star they developed? Please tell me it wasn't Raul?

Again, this is why I enjoy being an Arsenal supporter. Yes we spend money, but again, we don't even go for the "top players" because we can't. We find the gems that mostly fall through the crack and develop them properly. Teams like Man City and Chelsea drive me up the wall b/c of their constant need to just spend for the sake of spending.

They dont really spend that much money. like I said all those players are part of the "cantera". You dont spend any money on them contract wise. There was a survey made by some french website some years ago. The survey showed that they are the team where youngs players want to play more. And thats thanks to a great scouting team and ver good developing system.

There are barely any english players in Arsenal. And I think they are the third team with the most moeny in the world after Real and Man U. Almunia, Arshavin, denilson. Cesq, Eboue, Gallas, Van persie... I dont think any of them have been developed by them. Not sure though.

That doesnt proof anything. Compare what Inter, Milan, Juve, Roma, Lazio have done in the last 5/10 years to what leverkusen, Munich, bremen, Schalke and Borussia have.

Italians team have been screwing other european teams for ages. Germans, apart of the Bayerns not so much.

Look at who the Italian teams were up against in Champions League (Roma got ousted by Arsenal, Inter by Manchester United, Juventus by Real Madrid). Now take a look at Bayern's march to where they are now. They were hardly challenged.

yes the top Italian teams are better

but I remember in the 90s how Italy was the place to be in soccer
Its changed so much

Ive lived in both countries
In Italy some teams play in high school stadiums
stadiums are rarely full

oh well
its just my preference to watch a league where many teams have a shot at winning.

When are they going to put a cap on salaries

I completely agree that italys soccer has been going downhill for a long time in every sense posible but they are still better than germany. Again, I prefer watching a Bundesliga game though. I hate Italian soccer.

You can't call Italian soccer, soccer. It's some weird, slow down form that bores the hell outta me.

To borrow a boxing term, it's a rope a dope game. Really, just happy for the draw for 85 mins. of the game and then in the final 5 or so mins. decide to attack. Ugh.

You sure you watch Serie A? Yes its true Serie A is more of a thinking game than that of say the EPL. However; did you know that Serie A has more goals this year than EPL. The game is a little more mythodically and different than that of other leagues but I dunno its my priority watching and I don't find it boring at all.

I enjoy EPL and La Liga as they add different flavours of soccer but I love the mythodical thinking of Serie A.

Also, I see their is rumour talk creeping on his this thread. In a way its almost a shame because soccer rumours are by far the worst rumours in any sport I follow. Sometimes its rediculous what some people have the nerve to print

IMO Italian USED to be a more of a thinking game. Now its just more defensive and phisical than anything. Their offense is extremely based on counters and air game. The really good Italian midfielders have dissappeared. What really special game creators do you have in the Italian league anymore? Spanish game is the most tactical (Villareal and Barsa being a good example), English is more free willing so it depends on the creativity and talent of the players. Different games, but Italian has lost a lot of what signature Italian soccer is.
And its not only the game itself. They are the only big league that still has a lot of hooligans in their stadiums, they have had scandals with betting and crooked players/teams, many of their stadiums are empty and they have Berlusconi too.
Everyone in the world of soccer knows this and it really its a shame because they have a great tradition. Exactly the same thing happend with their basketball league.

About the rumors, I agree, most of them are ridiculous, but the ones about Kaka and Cristiano seem to be pretty true. Who knows, sadly Im pretty sure about Cristiano being in Real next year. He is that kind of guy.

DVS, to be honest, the last time I watched a full Serie A game was in I believe 2001. I'm going based on that.

The rest is based on their international record. There was a time when Italian soccer was exciting, in the Mid 1990s really, when Inter, AC, Juventus, Roma, Fiorentina and Lazio all played a brand of soccer which was fun to play and watch.

Around 1999 or so, I think it went downhill. Like I said, haven't paid much attention to it in a while, but going on what some of my friends have said, I still don't think it's that much fun. And really, who cares about the goals scored, I care more about the quality to be honest.

Just to throw my 2 cents....

I've HATED Italian soccer as much as anyone here for a long time.... but I was actually very impressed with them over the last WC and Euro.... I thought that they did a credible job of mixing it up for the most part and they looked very good doing it.
