i just looked at some of the group standings.

Good to see FRance back in the running.

Also, I can't believe how poorly Czechs are doing. Even worse than Poland. So strange that Northern Ireland and Slovakia are 1-2 in that group.

Much like in the other group where Portugal AND Sweden are terribly under performing.

Hey Belsius, how about el Riera!? He was a monster in Liverpool's last game too.

quick question. in this round of group play, do all teams play the other teams in the group twice (home and away?)
Yep they play twice. Ten games in total I think.

For the record San Marino gets scored probably an average of 5 goals a game. So 10 is not bad at all.
San Marino is in Italy. Smallest country in the world I think.

Riera didnt play that well, he was Ok, but the goal was a huge play by Güiza.

A much better day of wc qualifiers yesterday, Scotland with the scrape thru victory at home against the mighty Iceland, so still on track for 2nd place.
Dont know if any of you guys saw the Wales Germany game, Ballack with an absolute screamer from 30 yards, he later got slapped in the face by his little Polish friend Podolski with a bunch of team mates seperating them, all very amusing.
Much better result for Poland, shame it doesn't count in the battle to be the best 2nd place qualifiers, games against the shitty minow 6th place 'nations' dont count, due to group 9 only having 5 teams.

its actually the 3rd smallest country and did have its own Formula one race until Ecklestone got way too greedy. Only Manaco and the VAtican to be smallyer.

Also San Marino has only 30 000 people and only one pro team which is in Italy's fouth division.

Poland did smack them around 10-0 but Germany did better beating them 13-0

nice. me too. I found out i was going yesterday. I can't effin' wait for this game. I'm kind of wishing Dichio gets the start, but in all likelyhood, we'll see him late in the game. I heard Vitti was limping a few days ago. He wore a knee brace in Columbus. Hopefully that's al sorted out because kid looks really good out there.

Meanwhile Seattle is on fire. amazing for an expansion team.

Should be a great match.

oh sorry fancy I didn't see you saying it. As for TFC I hear hear Montero is out for Seattle. Vitti has been looking horrible lately and they paying that guy a lot of coin to be striker (DeRo money).

Btw what section are you in?

Horrible? Dude only played one game. And i thought he looked good... better than Barrett by miles. For one thing Vitti actually has good control with the ball. I recall him beating quit a few defenders.

That's good that Montero is out though...

I'll be in section 220something - can't remember the exact number. My friend has season tickets there.

I don't know how many of you watch Bundesliga but I watched Wolfsburg thrash Bayern.
They scored 4 goals in 20 minutes during the second half
here is the best one

Nice games yesterday. GO OPORTO!! I would be so happy if Man U. was eliminated.

And Villareal deserved a little more, the result wasnt completely unfair but Villa played better. God I hate Fabregas. Whiny little bitch.

Porto played their hearts out and a well deserved 2 away goals. I bet they are happy going home they have the advantage of either winning or obtain a 0-0 or 1-1 tie and they are thru.

Man U made 2 HUGE defensive mistakes and deserved their fate. They are definately the better team but I feel they are running out of gas as a unit. Could be just me but I think The Japan tourney, Carling Cup, FA Cup and CL are finally catching up to their conditioning

YEAAHH Porto!!

awesome. just awesome. Two away goals is a really good accomplishment. almost a victory if you think about it.

As for later today... i am heading up to scallywags for the match. Should be a good one. I guess Doc was too nervous to do an avy bet . Actually, I am actually a little nervous myself about this game.

Ya Chelsea/Liverpool matches usually are decided by a PK or a really dumb goal.

It'll definately be a nerve racking game Good Luck

thanks homes.

And shitty home opener for Toronto huh? Ricketts looked pretty awful. so did Barrett. IMO, he has really played himself out of the first team right now. Dichio and Vitti seem to have some good chemistry. That's two games now where they have clicked pretty nicely. If i'm Carver and bring Danny back to start and make Barrett earn his time.

Oh yeah - and i crazy glue Harmse's shorts to the bench. Seriosuly. I'll take Velez over him. Maybe even the Gambians (i say that without ever watching either of them play!).

Marshall looked good and Serioux was struggling. I wonder if TFC could have afforded to keep both marshall and Serioux. If so bad move getting rid of Tyrone Mo.

The truth is I'm not surprised even with Montero having Rape Allegation problems and out of the lineup Seattle has a friggin DP. Rumours have it Christian Vieri is looking for a final contract. Sign his ass (even tough i hate him) and with Vieri / Amado / De Ro you will score mad goals.

I'd say Mo and Carver should seriously be under the gun this year and if the team can't make the playoffs its time to cut bait and start a new.

However; its season 3 and MLSE still can't sign a DP those tight wads

As for being at the game. Dam it was cold and I had the pleasure in holding down a TIFO in section 110. It was so windy and so tough holding the flag down you couldn't believe it. The guy on the other side just let go LOL.

The ball also looked to be going in so many different directions when it was in the air you could tell they had to play the ground game.

All in all I'd say TFC still needs a competent striker and I know Vitti hasn't played much but for 300 000 bucks he is a waste of money.

Barcelona scores the first. I have never seen a team move the ball like this. Insane.
