I have to admit TFC looked good yesterday, but the started off well last year against the Crew, so I'll wait and see how they do for a couple of games more before I start believing in the playoffs.

Well done Pool.

Kinda disappointed that Villa folded so easily today. Definitely in a free fall right now.

I'm all for the photo finish to this seasons end although i have to admit im really surprised united has lost 2 in a row at this point in the season.

either way, im sure that makes lpool and chelsea happy in the pants!

hahahahahaha! If Alex Funguson says it, it must be true!

Such a great weekend when it comes to soccer. Really, really fantastic. I watched the Toronto FC game at Scallywags. DeRo looked really good at the beginning. Brennan's goal was wicked and Guevara has pretty huge. The thing that i was really happy about was that we really didn't see the usual TFC mistakes that would cause us to lose the game. I actually thought the 2 Kansas goals were just good goals - i couldn't really fault the defense. mind you i was really drunk by the time the 2nd half started. Like REALLY drunk... so pardon me if my judgement was off. spent WAY more money than i wanted to and came close to defending my friend in a fight, Killer, killer hangover headache this morning.

However, the Liverpool Villa game was a pretty good way to get my Sunday started. Talk about complete domination.... wow. Pleased that Riera looked as good as he did. His goal was simply beautiful. Villa looked to be making a game of it soon after the Kuyt goal, but that didn't last very long. I don't think i've ever seen the reds clicking like they are now.

We're definitely in for an interesting close to the season.

WALK ON

I couldn't say it better. Anelka is lucky to have the goals he has. Drogba should definately be the Goal Poacher of Chelsea and they won't miss Anelka one bit.
United boss Ferguson to quit next year, says son - England - ESPN Soccernet

Quote:
Speculation about when Ferguson will end his long reign at Old Trafford has been ongoing since he changed his mind about quitting when he turned 60 seven years ago.

Now Darren Ferguson, manager of League One side Peterborough, has hinted it could be the summer of 2010 when his father finally walks away from the game.

''His health is fine and he's building a new team,'' said Darren. ''If they win (the Premier League) this year then they catch Liverpool in terms of titles won.

''I can see him doing this year and next - and then that might be it for him.''

Ferguson senior has already cancelled one retirement date, which was originally scheduled for the end of the 2001-02 season, and passed the retirement age of 65 two years ago.

Since then he has stubbornly refused to clarify his intentions and has fluctuated from saying he has "many years" left to insisting that he will not work beyond the advanced age of 70.

Meanwhile, Liverpool's Xabi Alonso claims that Fergie's men are still favourites for the title this season.

"It's going to be difficult because we can't afford to drop many points and we know that United have a very good team," he told Sky Sports News. "They are the main favourites, of course, but we are going to be doing our best to be challenging until the final weeks of the season."

When questioned whether the pressure is on United, he responded: "Yes, I think so. They are the champions.

"They are in the best position and they have that advantage. We have to do our job and try to make things difficult for them."

Gotta love BSPN. Nowhere in that article does it confirm that Sir Alex is retiring next season, it's just his son speculating.

i just saw this and i really HAD TO post it here.

Here are some "unofficial" jerseys that the big English sides will be wearing next season:

yikes.. i hate the colours.

i like the pectoral enhancements.

The best of the bunch right there.

as much as complimenting anything Man utd. goes against my principle, this one looks really sharp.

but here's the kicker!....

BAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!!! Nice medieval / pirate lace up! seriously, even if you support United, how can you not laugh at that?!

hahahahahaa!!! oh priceless.... thank you Nike!

The Liverpool one looks like the Spanish National Team a bit. I like it. It's really sharp.

I knew we were going with a different alternate colour as the yellow now seems faux pas, but what the hell were they thinking with the green colour? Seriously!

The United pirate jersey is a joke.

well the way AIG is going, it only makes sense that utd. don't have a main sponsor for next year.
