naturally, i'll support Polska, but they do have a tendency of choking on the big stage, hopefully Benhakker will put a stop to that. and my second team will be Croatia even though we're in the same group, i like their chances to upset some of the big countries

Oh Snap.. group of death with France, Italy and the Netherlands.

Ususally I support England, but I'll have to go with option 1-A, which is my roots and Portugal.

So..anyone catch the TFC home opener?

I was there, and it was fun!

The whole game i was going back and forth with the British/anti French guy sitting beside me. Imagine my jubilation and dude's dissapointment when Laurent Robert scored. I really let him have it at that point. Next game i go to i'm wearing a beret.

This saved my weekend from being sports hell after the Raptors debaucle. All's i know is that we finally have a worthy soccer team in this city. woot!

Finally TFC looks like it has a real squad with Ricketts, Robert, and Guevara. That free kick by Robert was a friggin rocket. Once Julius James is fit again, it provides us with another weapon. Real Salt Lake isn't that fierce of competition. Let's see how we stack up against New England, New York and Chicago first before we start booking this team for the playoffs.

i've actually already booked them for the playoffs.

Saltlake beat DC united earlier if i'm not mistaken - but really any MLS team can win on any given night.

Seriously though. Ricketts, Guevara, Robert i dare say, are the best midfield in the MLS right now. I don't think i'm being a homer either.

We know Robert is money in the bank on free-kicks, and watching Guevara and Ricketts up close, you can see those two have some serious skillz. Especially Ricketts. Dude was giving the Salt Lake playes fits with his crafty footwork.

You know what TFC needs to do? Open up the wallets and pay for Peter Crouch to come here.

hah, wishful thinking, but theres no way he leaves england. i read an interview with him where he said that leaving the epl would mean he'd be leaving for inferior competition which is the opposite of what hes looking for

not only that, but Peter Crouch is a fantastic player and at this point too young and good for the MLS. As you know I'm a big time Liverpool fan and i have always been a big Crouchy fan too.

As much as i like him i do think that the depth of the LFC roster has hurt him a bit. The fact remains that he is far too good NOT to be a starting striker in the premiership. Outside of the top 4 teams, Crouch would be welcome on any English side as a primary scorer.

Real Madrid already 10 points ahead of the rest. They can be champions as soon as the next week. Boring league, not team is playing well really.

yep, he is back, he was really good the other day, but they didnt even score against a middle pack team. I can see them getting killed by Manchester, but who knows, its a champions league game.

Im watching Liverpool - Chealse right now. Liverpool was killing them but Chelsea is starting to play good

I'm jealous you're watching the match. I'm following the game on UEFA Match-cast, so I get minute by minute updates. Is it boring? I know Liverpool tends to play a boring brand of football.
