yeah. i was reading the globe and mail the next day and they mentioned it. You'd think that an event that big would get more publicity in Canada, but i guess people don't care - or the media assumes they don't

ooooh, but let's go on for hours about some trades that may or may not happen a week from now.

Arsenal's goalless streak continues. I guess it will be Uefa Cup next season.

Ronaldo was amazing in that carling cup victory.

As for champs league... anyone think Lyon can pull an away goal @ the camp nou?

I've got chelsea winning again as well (away). Drogba FTW again? ya?

I also have the raps beating (covering spread) houston tho... I can't bet against my teams LOL. I'm sure one of u has the same problem too. But the lines everywhere but Vegas move so much it's ridiculous.

its 2 down 3 to go but I really hate correcting a "die hard"

I godda say Man U did win 2 of the more meaningless awards in team football but hey they are still awards. It could happen but even SAF said he bets that a dumb goal will result in Man U losing one of the 5 cups which is problably true considering the FA is just a one off and the CL is just 2 legs and a one off final with about 4 teams to beat.

In other strange news

Quote:
Serie A heavyweights Milan and Los Angeles Galaxy could be about to reach an unprecedented and unique agreement involving the iconic English midfielder David Beckham.

Beckham's future has to be decided by Monday, and negotiations are continuing in an attempt to tie him to Milan past the March 10 deadline.
British media outlet Sky Sports have stated that, due to Beckham's desire to remain in Milan, together with the calcio club's interest in securing a permanent move for the player - who has taken the Italian league by storm - a "unique agreement" will be discussed this week that will see Milanese and Los Angeles outfits effectively "share" the 33-year-old.

Sky Sports indicate that the unique agreement will see Beckham stay with Milan for the rest of the Serie A season. He will then return to the Galaxy to compete for the remainder of the MLS season before moving back to Italy for what could be the final transfer of his long and illustrious career.

The move will be a new deal in world football and is already being dubbed a "time share" agreement.

One further option for Milan is to buy Beckham outright. However, some sources believe that the Rossoneri will have trouble financing the deal as LA Galaxy are unlikely to settle for anything less than €11.2 million (Ģ10m).
The Galaxy's stance on the matter remains the same as it has done since day one. They are still adamant that Beckham will honour the initial agreement and will return State-side on March 10.

Yahoo! Sports - Sports News, Scores, Rumors, Fantasy Games, and more

I just want to know what AC Milan is thinking. Why do they need Becks now?

There is no way they will win the Scudetto or even catch Juve for 2nd place. THey already lost in the UEFA cup which is anything short of hilarious. I guess with Gattuso and Kaka injured they need Becks to fend off Fiorentina, Lazio and Roma. Which might I add I find even more hilarious.

Valencia will play despite no pay - International Herald Tribune

Quote:
VALENCIA, Spain: Valencia's players will suit up for a Spanish league game this weekend despite not having been paid their outstanding salaries this week.

Valencia president Vicente Soriano had reportedly said the club would pay the €15 million ($19.3 million) owed in wages by Friday but that promise appears to have been broken.

"It's not alarming," coach Unai Emery told reporters on Friday. "If they're late in paying by a month it's not as important as showing the image and confidence that they will eventually pay up."

Valencia has been struggling financially recently and its woes have been made worse by the global economic downturn. The club sits in fourth place in the league and is chasing a Champions League spot for next season, but Friday's news added to speculation that Valencia may have to sell star striker David Villa just to stay afloat.

Emery said he has been in direct contact with Soriano and was confident that the unpaid wages would not affect the club's performance on Saturday against Malaga.

"Everyone prefers to be paid for the work they do, but if it comes a little late it's because the club has some small problems, I don't know why but we still have to play regardless," defender Emiliano Moretti had said. "It would be cowardly not to step out on the field because they haven't paid us."

Villa has scored 17 goals in 22 league games this season and became the first Spain player to score in six straight international games with a goal in Wednesday's victory over England.

Valencia reportedly rejected a €47 million (then-$69.5 million) offer from Madrid last summer when it signed the 27-year-old Villa to a six-year contract extension through 2014.

However, Valencia may be forced to move its prized asset with the sale of the land plots that make up the current Mestalla stadium still pending. Those sales are expected to help finance a brand new stadium, but construction was halted at one point last year due to financial difficulties.

Players on crosstown team Levante went on strike for a day last season over unpaid wages

WOW.

I can think of a team in the premiership that has a high regard for Spanish players. The same team is also managed by a Spaniard.

They also wear red.
They're a hell of a team.

Liverpool is a good team. For whatever reason, they seem to choke in premiership play, but I wouldn't want to face them in Champions League. They're money when the bright lights are on.

firstly, fuck you all.

Secondly, we're still tied for second. Considering we weren't pegged to do that well, it's a pretty good result. And there is still lots of football to be played.

Ahh who am i kidding. that 'borough game killed me.

I got a leak of breaking news.

Souleymane Mamam. An attacking midfielder from Togo who is 23 years old is in the works to become a TFC.

This coveted player was suppose to be in the Manchester United system (you know fancylad the team that actually brings up youth and WINS instead of fielding a team of internationals ) but had to be defected because he couldn't get a work permit.

If this one goes through all I have said about Mo is just quite the opposite. He recently signed two Gambian players and now this. Great for Mo to look outside the soccer power and look at small countries and get players that may want Canadian Passports and who knows play for the National Team.

This is legit and I will reveal my source when the dust settles

Valencias management is a disaster, their president is one of the most inept dudes in the league. They perfectly knew they were in trouble finantialy so if a team offers you 45 fucking million for one player you take it to bring stability and pay your players.

the core is getting a little old . Well they are 3 loyal guys going to Serie B for the club.

Just to let you know Nedved is retiring this year. The fans will be saying goodbye to a legend. Nice career though

Well Fancylad Liverpool is an easy team to beck upon esp. considering all the wrongdoings their fans have done over the years.
