I'd argue that on paper they have a better lineup than Liverpool and Arsenal.

A much better line up than Arsenal on paper. I'd say our youth though puts us ahead of Chelsea.

Ambramovich needs to realize that his team is not simply a toy. You can't just get the big name from a year ago and hope for the best. It needs to gel and you need to develop. It's why ManU is usually a force, most of their talent is homegrown (not lately).

What's hurt Chelsea is the play of Ballack; it's really fallen off since Euro 2008. They should've made a play for Modric last offseason who's finally looking good in Tottenham. Oh well, screw Chelsea!

As would I.. especially Arsenal. Liverpool i'd say they're a bit better, but the Reds have really closed the gap.

I knew Scolari wouldn't last. Big Phil can only last in competitions that last for about a month or so.. his motivational tactics ran out.

paper is different. I mean players like Ballack and Drogba aren't good any more

some players off the top of my head

Look at Man U they have Ronaldo, Tevez, Berbatov, Rooney, Giggs

Liverpool, Gerrard, Torres, Alonso, Kuyt

Arsenal, van Persie, Fàbregas, Adebayor

does the Chelsea squad compare to the top players on these teams?

If Drogba was to get transfered, I'd be willing to bet that he flourishes.

Anelka was playing well this year, and there;s always Lampard, Ashley Cole, Deco, Bosingwa, Essien, John Terry.. they've got some really good talent on this team..and usually I wouldn't big up this team, especially since I'm a Manchester United fan.

Heck yes.

they have one of the best keepers in the world, and quality throughout their entire lienup. Ballack isn't what he used to be that's true (as Claudius mentioned), but don't tell me Chelski don't have the horses, they certainly do - they're actually pretty stacked.

I'd rather take Liverpool's side to any team in the premiership (yeah i'm biased that way), but Chelsea's team is easily talented enough to be playing for the title.

One thing no one can argue is that Man U is the beast team offensively and defensively.

looks like it ill finish

Man U
Liverpool
Villa

and Chelsea and Arsenal have to fight it out for 4th, but Chelsea looks more likely right now.

Still a lot of football to be played but at the same time, I can;t imagine Villa's magical carpet ride will last much longer.

Chelsea has no chemistry (sounds familiar) and it really stems from their midfield. Shevchenko when he was there, struggled b/c the midfield couldn't find him at all. They have individual talent at every position but they don't gel whatsoever.

Factor in that they have a pretty average defense core and they've looked human in their set pieces you have a team that's failing.

And I'll take Arsenal's youth right now over any of the big 4. I love what I've read about from the Academy. Wengner knows how to develop our talent!

Speaking of which, how the hell did Villa get into 3rd spot?

To be fair, Arsenal has had some tough luck this year - injuries to Fabregas, Adebayor, Walcott.. those are key dudes. If they were able to stay healthy, they;'d have a much better showing.

Liverpool has a history of breaking down in the EPL, but this year, my gut feeling says otherwise.

Chelsea need a serious injection of youth. Lampard, ballack, belletti, anelka, carvalho, ferreira, deco, drogba- all players on the wrong side of 30. Some rebuilding is in order methinks.

And i get the feeling that Abramovich is giving up on them. He hasn't really funded them like he has in the past- quaresma's their only signing this season, and he's on loan, and he hasn't attended that many games this season.

k, first of all, chelsea is much better than liverpool and arsenal on paper. 2nd, as many of you have pointed out, chelsea has no chemistry. Scolari was lost and didnt make good line-ups and formations. And Drogba isnt bad, if he played on a team where he got playing time, he would be a top 5 scorer in his league. Lastly, Barca is the best team in the world. They are the most rounded team and they have the best player. They are going to win the champions league.
