2014 FIFA World Cup? - Group F - FIFA.com

I really don't know what to think. Obviously we're underdogs of the group, but if we play at all like we did in '98, we have a shot of second. Anything like '06 and no chance.

Ugh

Argentina will top the group and Bosnia should be #2 but their disadvantage is never playing in a WC before.

Never winning the most important club title vs. gunning for the 10th of said title. Will be fun.

Costa is out though.

Pepe, Benz and CR7 are all in a race against time to start. No Xabi will not be fun.

Also, 70.4% of Valencia has been bought by billionaire Peter Lim. Rumours have it that Valencia will try to get both Rodrigo Moreno and Garay.

I think Nigeria will get second, then Bosnia vs Iran for third is a toss up. Bosnia more talented obviously, but also very little experience, where as Iran has had experience.

Potentially. That is certainly possible.

I'm curious about the two "groups of death" in Holland/Spain/Chile/Australia and England/Italia/Uruguay/Costa Rica.

2 very tough groups with 3 very good teams in each and barring unlikely results a team that everybody does well against.

Also - I play my first league game of the season on Sunday

I wouldn't call the Spain group a group of death. Chile isn't a tier 1 or 2 team. or Aussie for that matter.

Second one is though. Uruguay, England, Italy? I don't think England will make it out. I'd put money on that.

congrats. I don't have a team this year .

our captain is an ass. I'd always had beef with him, but played well so he couldn't disclude me. Now that i'm not in the country for 2 of the games, he took his chance and booted me off the team. I contacted the same league with the situation of my being away, and they said they'd find me a team once i'm back. I'm hoping that wasn't bullshit.

If not, I have one serious pickup going (same group of guys, booked field, just no refs or other teams), and another fun run out. I'll focus on ball or hockey if a soccer team doesn't work. Maybe explore tdot a bit.

Well depends on your definition of tiers I suppose. To me there are 3-4 teams that I think will win the world cup - Germany, Espana and Brasil (in no specific order), with Italia my fourth choice. Then there are literally a bunch of other teams who are great in an aspect or two but in dire straights in another, or they are very solid. Some of these can be darkhorses while some of them are more historically reknown.

Chile has a good choice of knocking a new and different Holland out, or Spain but I don't think that'll happen.

Although England is the supposed weakest of the 3, Uruguay barely, just barely made it to the WC. They were poor/subpar in WC qualifiers.

Thanks that sucks

Well hopefully you are able to find a team.

I wish our captain/coach didn't have so much faith in unreliable ppl. But this year I think we'll have a really solid group that is consistent and available. I might play more CF/9/ST this year.

Poor USA???????

They are in the WC. Them and Mexico benefit from CONCACAF as it's always them practically guaranteed a spot in the WC given their squad depth/quality in comparison to the rest of N.America/C.America/Caribbean.

Tough group but Germany will probably be 1st and Portugal should be #2.

I think Group C is the most intriguing group. Colombia is a darkhorse in the tourney but haven't been to the WC in a while. Greece is pretty solid defensively. Japan is one of the best teams in Asia and Cote d'Ivoire is one of the best teams in Africa. Should be fun.

I'm hoping Ecuador make it out of their group but the Swiss and Honduras to a lesser extent are tough. It's almost a given France top the group.

Yup. It's pretty sad.

However, FIFA really needs to do better to make it harder for USA and Mexico to dominate CONCACAF. Maybe merge CONCACAF and South America + call it the Americas qualification. However then it would be even harder for USA, Mexico or other current CONCACAF teams to make it.

It'd be impossible for them practically. it's important to keep it separated. they're 2 different continents. It just makes sense. Should they merge Asia and Europe because they're connected and Asia has an easier time? NO.

So then it'll continue to be USA, Mexico plus one or plus two then. Just an idea/thought. + to be fair in many countries the Americas are considered as 1 continent or at least talked about as one.
