2 teams La Liga teams in the UCL semis. 2 La Liga teams in EL semis.

+ once again Chelsea is there saving the BPL from embarrassment.

Chelsea got really lucky they're facing Atletico cuz it'll cost 3 million euros for Courtois to play each game against Chelsea and Atletico are not going to spend that unfortunately. Maybe they'll cough it up for the 2nd leg but it's doubtful

embarrassment? BPL had 2 teams in the quarter finals, and now one in the semis. Hardly embarrassing. or would you rather just forget that and the fact that a BPL team won it 2 years ago?

Yeah and most BPL fans outside of Chelsea fans kept insulting them that year laughing that they'd get destroyed by Bayern. You did just that.

It is embarrassing. 1 out of 8 teams in the 2 biggest european tournaments this year. Last year yet again 1 out of 8 teams in the 2 biggest european tournaments this year (and none in the UCL semis). The year before that 1 out of 8 teams in the 2 biggest european tournaments.

Like I said, Chelsea has been saving the BPL from embarassment in Europe.

oh man that was an intense game yesterday between City and Liverpool and just a massive win to keep the 'dream' alive. Gerrard was pretty emotional at the end of it.

They're soooo close, but i still don't want to get ahead of myself. That game with Chelsea is going to be crazy.

Congrats to 'Pool. If they get that win vs Chelsea I think they have it in the bag.

Barca lost - muahahaha. Atletico won yet again and Diego Costa got injured but he'll be fine to play vs. Chelsea. Real has a tough game against Barca without CR7 but Khedira is back to training with the group so that's good.

Nice to see Dortmund defeat Bayern. I know Bayern already won the league and all that but they were playing most of their starters.

Oh dude get off the whole tap up thing. Don't be angry your team doesn't know how to operate when it gets a bundle of cash.

Did Real tap up Ozil, DiMaria, Khedira, etc? No.

LOL seriously midtable 4th. Real buy players like most teams do but since they're Real they tap up. + even if we didn't buy players those in Castilla would've provided some fine players for the 1st team in Mata, Negredo, Rodrigo Moreno, Soldado, Callejon, Jese, Borja Valero and Javi Garcia. + The team is more than just the Welshman.

I acknowledged your youth. Or else I would've said fighting relegation sometimes.

Yeah cause the president and zidane telling bale in the media he should tell the team he wants a move isn't tapping up...

Fuck outta here.

Wow you're quite the comedian. Well how would any top team operate without good youth or any transfers at all. No you made it sound that if it weren't for "tapping up" the team would be horrible.

It's a double-edged sword - players want to come to Real - whether it be for money, fame, playing for arguably the biggest club in the world, or actually playing for trophies. If a player really wants to come and management really wants them to come - it'll happen. Or the team will keep a player who obviously doesn't want to stay there. And yeah, Real is the only team out there that "taps up" or speaks about transfers either speaking highly of a player or that he will/should be coming.

Anywho transfers happen ALL the time - you should know cuz you're a fan of the transfer league.

my word they get closer every week, and yet i get more nervous as it all happens.

That Borini penalty on saturday was so massive because it really buys them some breathing room even if things don't go their way next week against Chelsea. It should be a cracker.

I can't believe how much Raheen Sterling has improved this year. Never would i have envisioned him to be this good. He's just such a complete player and he's only 19!

sterling is superb isn't he!?

I have really started to believe that rodgers is an outstanding manager.

I used to pay a lot of attention to stats, possession, shots etc- possibly partly due to wanting excuses when we lost! ("we had more possession and shots, they just got lucky!") But in the last few years, i've noticed it's what you do with it that counts (pretty obvious i know, but it's easily missed imo, most people still pay a lot of attention to those 2 stats.)

Then i watched turkey v croatia in the euro playoffs and turkey had over 60% possession and over the double the shots croatia had as well, croatia won 3-0 and had absolute control! Allowing turkey to have the ball, created no genuine easy chances and just tore them to shreds with quick counter-attacks.

kind of went off on a tangent there! but it was leading to me saying that this season, i'm giving more attention than ever to managers. I've always thought they were important but would give at least as much importance to the players, maybe more. "you need world-class players to challenge."

Rafa made me realise tactics are vital and can win you games you are not favourite for. Rodgers is making me realise the importance of a team "vision" or "personality," and the right way of man-management.

Not the harry redknapp way- tell them they're amazing until they still start playing bad and then drop them and stop talking to them. But giving them genuine belief and understanding of their role, but also insisting on the highest standards. Sterling has benefited so much from this. And this will be evidenced in the world-cup when he is played on the wing in a 4-4-2 and struggles to impact the game.

Thanks for sharing this.

Kobe doesn't ruin it for me. Neymar on the other hand ...

And I loved the Zlatan line.
