Haha, yeah true.

There's a something about sturridge tho, he hasn't quite connected with crowd, or we haven't connected with him, or both.

Me and my dad love him as a player, love watching him, think he's an exceptional player but we have zero emotional connection with him. It's not automatically the best players that become cult heroes and get a song. There's something about attitude, demeanour, work ethic.

Not saying sturridge doesn't have those attributes, maybe he just hasn't really displayed them yet. He hasn't been here that long, he'll probably get one soon.

Lucas got one coz he was a good story, coming good after initially a large minority gave him stick. I think his song is almost an apology from the fans- "we like him, in fact we fucking love him." great song.

And luis garcia got one because he became part of a romantic story-line. The spanish revolution and the charge to the CL final. And coz he was a good (albeit inconsistent,) player.

Maybe next year when we're beasting in the CL and sturridge scores a last minute winner against bayern he'll get a song!

Potentially but Chelsea love to play 1 striker given their abundance of attacking and non-attacking midfielders.

No but Eto'o was so unnecessary.

Also - Liverpool fans have A LOT of songs. I actually went to the Liverpool-TFC game at the Skydome 2 years ago. Felt kind out of place as me (a Real Madrid fan) and a friend of a friend (a Juventus fan) were hanging out with a bunch of Liverpool fans.

yeah, was just making a point about what chelsea could have! Sturridge is a good wing/striker hybrid as well, could potentially work. Tho mourinho likes his wide-men to defend!

yeah, we've LOADS of songs, took me ages to learn even half of them!

this is my favourite, it's as good as siegfried sassoon and the other war poets imo-

LOVE poor scouser tommy. I do a good cover with my ukulele.

Although my personal favorites are the anfield rap and pass and move!
(kinda kidding although i am known to start reciting them during a game depending on the mood and how many drinks i am on)

God damn anyone see the real game vs. schalke? Bale and Ronaldo put in some nasty goals. Real made a statement in the CL.

Real look to be peaking and Ancelotti has the team and its individuals in the right place to succeed.

And, it's nice to see Modric proving a lot of haters from last year wrong. He's been their best overall player next to Ronaldo this season in my view. And he's just a better overall player as he's improved defensively ten fold. I think I read a stat that showed he led the team in tackles and he has an insane pass completion %.

When Khedira went down I thought the team would be royally screwed - however that hasn't been the case.

Xabi and Luka are beasting playing together. Angel's has made a near seamless transition into a CAM/CM. Isco has unfortunately suffered but when he is playing he makes an impact and he looks beastly when playing as a false 9. Illarra has fulfilled his role spelling Xabi and Luka.

The BBC broadcasts box office hits each game. Jese has been an utter revelation. Morata has unfortunately had to suffer being behind Jese and now Isco too as Isco is being used as a false 9.

Pepe has been much more level headed this season as a whole and the team is currently enjoying a 27 match unbeaten streak. Varane is finally back which will be nice too. Both GKs have been quite good. Iker hasn't conceded in Copa del Rey play. Also, a Huntelaar wonderstrike ended Iker's cleansheet minutes at 952 minutes. He hadn't conceded a goal in 952 minutes.

Joined managingmadrid.com. It's not bad thus far.

Also - Will City scare Barca and will Milan upset Atletico?

And Spurs - almost everything that went wrong went wrong this season. I think they may have a clearout in the summer unfortunately for them.

Not the players. Verts not going anywhere. He's been too much of a bitch for a big club to come turn his head. Lloris is a risk but I doubt barca goes for him just yet. And he'll stay otherwise. Can't really think of any other crucial cog I'd be afraid of having their heads turned.

Sherwood needs to go, and I've said this since the beginning. And he will go. I wouldn't mind any of the folk we're being linked to either.

Also lamela has been injured s very very long time and was not shown under avb. He's a very very good talent. Look for him to make a lot of noise next season. It'll be like a new signing.

Injuries and chaos in management have taken their toll and yet we're still 5th. It's not even out of the question yet we get 4th (but I'm not holding my breath). It could have been a lot worse given what went down.

Ter Stegen is going to Barca in all likelihood. Do you think guys like Vertonghen and Eriksen want to stay with again with the promise of 4th-5th. Again I wouldn't be surprised to see some guys go. Lamela although you're right may be injured he may want to leave.

To blame it all down on the coach and injuries is a little harsh. Players are also responsible and a bunch of teams have injuries.

5th isn't even assured and we all know that that isn't much of an accomplishment as 4th is the goal.

4-1 for Atletico vs. Milan today. 1-1 Arsenal vs. Bayern Munchen.

I think Atletico are the true wildcards of the UCL this year.
