That may well have been me. Hardly controversial or negative! He's on 60-70k I believe, which is a lot, considering it was his last chance at a top team. Also, not many were praising the deal, saying he's past it. So "see how he does" is fairly positive! Saying "give him a chance." I was also fine with rodgers' reasoning, that he wanted more experience and a dressing room voice.

If you knew it was gonna be a great signing, well done, you're a football genius.

of course. I like how so many people and this applies to all sports try to act all smart and they decide if a player acquisition is good or bad when it's made before any games are played. Like they get a prize in the end.

Re Toure: I was in the same camp as you. I was optimistic i remember him having a good year with City last season and the fact that it was a free transfer was a good thing, but his age brings a lot of question marks. Although i think it's safe to say now Rodgers hit a home run with Kolo. Carra's replacement really and a clear improvement at that. I'd love for him to have 3 or so good years with us.

I just thought and said in the past that a free transfer of K.Toure is pretty good. Could do far worse on a free transfer.

very exciting mate. Sturridge is starting to remind me of torres at his best for us. Fast, powerful, clinical, full of confidence.

we were poor in general though. first 20 mins we scored 2 good goal and spent the rest of the time giving the ball away and them looking threatening. Then we looked rampant for a while. 2nd half we were terrible! Rodgers not happy after the game.

we are very far from the finished article, loads of room for improvement. So that's either good that we're top and not playing to our potential yet or worrying that we might not reach our potential and other teams will overtake us.

You know what I'm not even going to think about it and i'm just going to enjoy the wins. I don't even think we were that bad in the second half. We hit a cross bar and a post... and posession was still pretty good. I'm glad to see ROdgers have some fire because it shows he expects the team to be better and that's great, but even so they're still pretty good as is. Defending is so much better and that is a big reason for the results and the points.. Sakho was a BEAST today. As was the rest of the backline.

fair enough mate. I've got some more things to say about our problems, but i won't bring it up today and let you enjoy our win!

Good to see Liverpool doing better these days.

Anywho, man has Benz looked poor lately. Morata helped save the team today. #FreeMorata The difference between the team playing in UCL and league play is truly night and day.

I think there'll be a bigger gap from the top 5 or so teams in the epl this season and the mid table teams than other years. That being said, I also predict the top 5 being closer than normal.

there are 7 strong teams. Everton were really good in the first half against city. martinez has improved them but unfortunately for them their attacking play has opened them up at the back. I think they're a threat to any of the top teams who don't perform as expected.

the midfield is strong as well, southampton, swansea, norwich (if hughton stops being so negative,) etc. But you're right, every team can't do well! so there may be a gap between top 4 and the rest. Having said that the top teams are losing games, so it feasible you could see a fairly low wining pts total and 4th not massively ahead of 8th.
