Tim Liewike fired KEvin Payne. Pretty undeserving if you ask me. First the Leafs and now this. I don't think Tim Liewike is very good. I think the Raptors side of things is by far the best run of the 3 teams.

And the best part is that finally some big names came after many years. Couldn't be happier even though there seems to be too much difference between our top teams (Juve, Inter, Milan, Roma, Lazio, Napoli and Fiorentina) and the rest of the league

(Well, Lazio seems a question mark so far, but I'm confident they'll put up good numbers).

Indeed. Napoli, Juventus and Fiorentina made some great moves.Inter need a lot of work to do. Roma getting Strootman was well done. Milan will probably get Honda soon and the Kaka move was good. Selling KPBoateng was ok but getting Matri wasn't needed. I agree that Lazio is a question mark. I think Juventus will win the title unless Napoli do really well. Once again I think Milan and Fiorentina will battle for 3rd but it's not impossible for Fiorentina to get 2

Is way too soon to judge Roma since they faced Livorno and Verona, but I must say that in the past years Roma won these kinds of games very hard (sometimes they just didn't win: Roma 1-1 Pescara last year), seems like they're shaping well... if they got a worthy CF I think they could've competed even for higher standings eventually.

Inter... well, I hate Mazzarri's character (this kind of person is called "piagnina" in Italia, who's someone always complaining and blaming the others) but he's way too good in improve mid-level players: Jonathan succeeding in dribblings? Alvarez scoring after a 20mt RUN? Are you kidding me? If he had better players, Inter would've improved more and more, I'm sure.

Not to forget, my Pescara seems to be one of the best team in Serie B this year: really good players (Mascara and Cutolo), interesting young players (all eyes on Ragusa, he's really skilled), Serie A-level coach (Pasquale Marino) and a wonderful group in general.
The main issue? Refs and our owner who as usual sold our best player without replacing them. As long as we'll have him we'll just be the elevator-team of Italy... I got used to it: our last trustworthy president was Scibilia, only a bunch of bloodsuckers after him.

I just don't see Inter or Roma getting 4th or higher.

Hopefully Pescara ascends again.

Inter and Roma can compete for the 4th with Milan in my opinion.

And, well, Aida Yespica used to live in Italy (and has been a tv starlet here) for a decade I think. She'd drive me crazy too.

Oh they can compete for it but I don't think they'll get it.

She is smoking.

Good god england have got to be one of the worst sides to watch in international football! Certainly on a talent to entertainment ratio! Luckily i'm not a patriotic person, so I don't really give a shit. I just find it irritating, especially as when they play bad it gets massive media coverage and soul searching and questions, followed by simplistic or just bullshit answers.

How a midfield of gerrard, lampard and wilshire can't string more than 2 passes together is a bloody disgrace!

That better not be England's trio for 2014 in Brazil. No CDM and two players on the wrong side of 30. But I guess the issue is that who does England have to play CDM who is a pure CDM?

that is an issue, but far from the biggest one. The tactics hodgson insists on using, basically the same he has all his career, are what makes good players look shit. His tactics are essentially the same he uses at "small" teams like west brom who had to punch above their weight in the role of the underdog. Solid, very little movement, (to avoid opening yourself up,) defensive and use of the long-ball.

Sounds like the perfect coach for England then

Rafael Benítez feels new club Napoli embracing the spirit of Liverpool | Football | The Observer

great article. Rafa's image in this country is bullshit, he's a great man, and a great manager. Not perfect, annoyed me with some of his decisions, but no manager is anywhere close to being perfect, yet some have amazing images, eg mourinho and ferguson.

only saw highlights but real looked pretty irresistible tonight! Isco's goal was the pick of the bunch imo. Fantastic first touch, just excellent and then the wrong-footing finish, give the eyes to the keeper and go the other way. Great goal.
