I think Barca's UCL semifinals streak will end this year.

IN: Neymar Out: Villa, Thiago, Fontas, Abidal, Muniesa, GD (loan-Everton), Rafinha (loan-CeltadeVigo), Bojan (loan-Ajax)

Horrible transfer window. Loss of depth. No reinforcement at CB.

Barring some mad transfers, Spurs look like they will be a top 4 team - Bale or no Bale.

I always wonder does Barca need a CB more than ManU needs a midfielder to partner Carrick with (be it a DLP,CDM or CAM) or is it another way around? Either way I think both teams will struggle despite how good they look against non-top sides in domestic play.

Lastly, Wenger really needs to do something.

again like I said, dark horse title contenders since we're keeping bale. we just need a CB. and if it's true about lamela or willian and or pjanic, then on paper we're definitely contenders

Idk about contenders but regardless Bale or no Bale Spurs look top 4 for sure. Arsenal needs to do a major skakeup. No destroyer in the middle and a fragile d. There's still time in the transfer window but barring some key transfers I think Arsenal's run of UCL qualifications is over.

On another note - Diego Lopez. Not happy about that. Isco was the man of the match by far. Xabi is missed. Khedira got injured and it will be interesting to see how Casemiro will preform if Khedira is not fit. Ironic that Real have one of the deepest if not the deepest selection of CDM/DLPs in the world and 2 start off the season injured (Xabi and Illarra) and now Khedira might be injured too.

Ridiculous performance by Lazio, not even two straight passages.

and we got capoue, a destroyer who beasted his first match in 35 minutes off the bench, to add to the best defensive stats holder destroyer in the epl in sandro, for 10 million :mattyd:

he's french, and young, and they have UCL, and we STILL GOT HIM

my prediction for the prem this season. (mostly based on what i thought before the season, but maybe a bit based on the 1st game of the season.)

1. chelsea
2. man city
3. man utd
4. tottenham
5. Liverpool
6. Arsenal

i don't actually think any of the top 3 are amazingly strong this season. Chelsea are the strongest imo, mourinho get them playing well and they have a very strong squad. City have a great squad too, and they have bought well, the new manager could get an atmosphere going where their aren't as many egos taking over. I think moyes will do ok at utd, but their midfield needs a massive overhaul. Fellaini would make a difference. BUT, i predict that none of them will do well in europe. Both tactically and in terms of players they are not as good as teams like, bayern, dortmund (more so tactically then squad strength,) real and barca are stronger. And within the prem, city and utd have new managers, that can always go wrong, chelsea failed to get the striker they were after and need to turn around some rather negative tactics they sunk into in the last couple of seasons.

4-6 could be totally interchangeable imo, aresnal have problems, but they also have money ready to spend. A center-back, a defensive mid and a striker would make them a totally different team. I think LFC are looking really good. Happy with the squad, love the movement and passing. Need to become more sharp at either end, cut out the defensive errors, finish better at the other end. Tottenham have a very good squad, solid, just not convinced they're better than arsenal or LFC. Their forward line is what would worry me.

i also predict that southampton, everton and villa will have good seasons.

Toulouse do not have UCL.

I think Bayern, Real or Juventus will win the UCL. Barca still is lacking a cb unless Bartra really steps it up this season. It's tough to say how Dortmund will do this year but I just don't think they'll be able replicate last season. ManU could be a darkhorse if they got the Fro. I think City and Chelsea have a chance to do well in Europe given their squads but more importantly their coaches are 2 of the best in the world. One could make a case that those 2 are the best in the world.

i just feel that english clubs are not good enough tactically. They rely more on individual brilliance than a solid group foundation. And of course the fast-paced, powerful approach, but that has been over-taken in the last few years by teams like bayern, dortmund and barca. Barca have kind of fallen into the same trap as english teams, relying so much as they do on messi. They should get a proper striker and drop him back to where he first played for them. Scoring 70 goals is not necessary just use your ability to dominate and fit in with the team.

i believe dortmund will be nearly as good as last season, if not as good. Losing goetze and even lewandoski will be recoverable. They will have money and they will spend it wisely, they are a very good football club and will be around for a while imo.

Gareth Bale transfer to Real Madrid rumors and reaction - GQ.COM (UK)

If it happens it will be like the Coentrao signing. Good player but there is already quality present on the wings (CR7, DiMaria, Jese, Denis) ,CAM (Ozil, Isco, Kaka) and CF (Benz, Morata). Not even mentioning the price which is idiotic.
