so you're telling me you can spend 120 million euros this season? I don't know, I think the 500 million or so debt you guys are running would scream otherwise. poor spanish banks. hell poor spanish people. while the country is basically bankrupt, madrid is funding the signing of golacticos on perez's whim because barcelona signed neymar.

we've spent 50 million pounds, and so far gained 10 from the caulker sale. given the T.v money, and the revenue the club generated, we're well within our means

When did I say my fav team could pay that fee? I was just commenting on your stance on Real. Real didn't just buy and not sell. Real sold and bought and when u think about it 17-22.4 million net spent isn't that ludicrous as uve said. Thanks for knocking on my people and my team-it's really nice of u. Real is the most valuable sports team in the world. The crazy 500 million that is always brought up has been critiqued and most say it is quite managable given how much revenue Real has and that it's sort of steady. Also-I didn't know Real was supposed to give money to the people. Last I checked clubs don't give out money for fun.

Hmm, and Real and other teams don't have revenue In the transfer window Spurs have net spent a hell of a lot more then net brought in via transfers yet you knock on Real. My initial post was in response to your comment on Real's signings.

Anywho I really hope Real don't get Bale.

As well, I don't even think they could afford to put up another 100 million pounds, up front, or the maj of it up front, on top of their already ludicrous spending done this off season.

regardless it's all moot. this late in the transfer season we're not selling. You say you're not going to cave cause suarez is being a baby. well why would we cave when bale has shown absolutely nothing of the sort to want to leave? he's actually only shown ambition for the club.
with you it's not about caving. 100+ mill is something you HAVE to accept, it's game changing. Let's just agree that real are very interested in signing him? and the fee would definitely be more than they paid for ronaldo?

Debt levels in the premiership, especially the big clubs, are increasing every year. You might reply with something like it's manageable, turnover also increasing (mostly thanks to the crazy tv deals,) but to me, increasing ur debt every year is not living within your means.

spurs are currently well over 100mill in debt.

You're looking at it as a freeze frame in time. The Stadium and more so (at this point) training ground has cost a fair bit of money. However, with the way the stadium deal is structured, it will be paying for itself and the training ground once it is built. There's a difference between spending 50 million pounds from your owner's pocket on a player and INVESTING x million pounds on a non-current asset

So excited for Wednesday's Ecuador/Espana game. Either way it's a win for me

Also - giant World Cup qualifier on Wednesday - France vs Belgium (in Belgium)

since 2003, tottenham have the 4th highest net transfer spend and are not the 4th highest in turnover. And considering clubs that have a considerably higher turnover in that period are also spending beyond their means, spurs have really taken risks, and/or been funded at a loss.

I find it very surprising anybody feels fine with the amount of money being spent on transfers and wages, and the debt being stacked up. I'm certainly not with my team and overall, it is ruining the game.

Dude - haven't you learned - Spurs never do anything wrong

I completely agree with you on your last part though. Especially constant spending and overstacking or overspending. On an aside Liverpool needs to return to their place as the English Kings in Europe. Signings like Carroll and Downing aren't helping though. Also - there needs to be an increased quota in the big 4 leagues to have at least 11 national players in a squad.

Lfc will find it incredibly hard to return to that position mate. Football is moving so fast at the moment, that that is now a bygone era!

The premiership is ridiculous. Someone like dortmund would not be successful in the prem. They would be like arsenal. You can't promote youth and be sensible financially in the prem. You can't sell ur best players and then buy cheaper replacements and wait for them to develop. The patience from directors, fans, media just isn't there.

The signings of henderson and downing were the right players, wrong price. The signing of carroll was completely absurd. Wrong player for our style and totally obscene price. Although on the issue of price it's known around liverpool, from people in the know (i know an ex-player fairly well for example,) that lfc told chelsea that the price for torres was 15mill more than we had to pay for carroll. That's why the price for torres got so high. What a ridiculous day that was! I still can not understand why we did that. we had nothing to play for that season, we could've just gone with suarez, kuyt and youngsters up front and invested the torres money in the summer.

before we were bought by ENIC we weren't a well run club. I don't deny that. take a look at the books since ENIC took over and it tells a different story. sure it's a small sample, but they've also been owners for a small amount of time.

It would be sad, but, I think La Liga should be reduced to 19 or 18 teams.

I'm just saying I read that they will put him on the market. Yes I believe they have to wait until January to move him.
