I think Confed Gold might remain Espana's bogey/elusive prize much like how the Olympic Gold is Brazil's bogey/elusive prize

If that happens PSG will not just stand back - they'll make a big move. Maybe Higuain???

Or Suarez.

Dumb - their arrogance will have them lose him on a Bosman next summer.

I think they can't find someone to replace him and don't want to be left without a quality striker. Still haven't used the Gotze money.

So they'd rather see him leave for free to their biggest rivals?

They should sell him or try to deal him in a swap deal for Mandzukic or Gomez.

mandzukic would be great but bayern wouldn't bite. and while gomez is great, he doesn't fit dortmunds philosophy. buy young and develop

What are you talking about? You're saying Bayern wouldn't give up Mandzukic for Lewa? Gomez is still a quality player and he is German which is always nice to have. He also would still receive great service on that squad while not having to go to Fiorentina or Atletico and going to a different league. It's not that bad especially considering Lewa is expiring.

gomez is 27. no way dortmund goes for that. bayern would like to keep mandzukic and have lewa together. why would they give up mand if they can just have lewa next season for free? mandzukic is a great great player and is the reason gomez, a fantastic striker, was on the fringes last season

Gomez despite his age is still a quality striker who has put fear into the heart of every defender in the German league. You think Mandzukic will start with Lewa - doubtful - that midfield is too talent and doesn't need 2 CF/STs. If Mandzukic is willing to take a back seat or Lewa is then sure but otherwise...

Either way BVB should just give in to their rival as opposed to seeing him leave to that rival for free.

i agree with the last point.

I never said they would start together. but there are plenty of games for both. a quality side has 2-3 quality strikers. I know gomez is amazing. it's just not dortmund's way. I could see them going for a striker like buraz yilmak for example

But Yilmaz goes contrary to your point of Gomez being too old. Both are born in 1985. In fact, Yilmaz is 5 days younger than Gomez.

Woohoo that means he's not coming to Real

I wouldn't get too excited about Villa but he'll have a lot less pressure playing for Spurs. Dark horses - you do know that Chelsea and City are going to do something crazy? I'd imagine United will finally get somebody to help Carrick out. Arsenal might get 1 or 2 legit quality signing. So, another battle for 4th place I see

villa at spurs I can see being a contender for the golden boot with all the chances we make and his superb finishing and experience. he'll be vdv 2.0 for us

paulinho fits avb's style to the letter, and gives us a ton of options in how to play our midfield in terms of tactics with sandro, dembele, paulinho, siggy, and holtby all being sublime. parker's still good if not sold. huddlestone can be very useful in certain situations, if not sold. but point is paulinho gives us quantity in midfield but WITH quality, something we lacked last season, a lot, especially with injuries
