He is better than Valdes and Reina but people are always saying he's the best goalie and he's not.

Ok fair enough. It's very arguable. I'll agree that this season when he did play he was poor. Last season he did very well. I think there are various arguments for him, Buffon, MN and Cech. I think Ter Stegen and De Gea might eclipse them all though. Hart I feel gets a ridiculous amount of hype from the British press.

Also, now that Espana has lost its first game in 3 years - English teams will stop getting Spanish talent

I always though Hart was the British Casillas

Looks like Argentina or Brazil win the World Cup next year. S American teams win in SA and European teams win in Europe.

If Hart wasn't English nobody would no who he is.

Brazil maybe but Argentina's d is pathetic. Not true, Espana won the World Cup in South Africa. Only European team to win the World Cup outside of Europe. Also, tough to win when you're missing these guys, the Magician and Mr.Class

That is true. However, I remember people constantly saying Spain would never win a World Cup.

Dominated! Maracana was amazing. Crazy atmosphere. I hate the new brazil as a team but they deserved it and it could've been even worse. Oh well, these might keep the team motivated for the worldcup. I still think Italy is a better team (with balotelli and soon Verrati) than Brazil.

I think the next world cup will go one of the following: Espana, Italia, Brasil or Deutschland. Espana wants to get another star, Italia want to show that they can triumph, Brasil want to win in their home country and Alemania want to show that they are not just contenders.

hart is a good keeper, but is made to be a great, just cause england's next best keeper is robert green

Happy for yesterday's win against Uruguay, even though I preferred Buffon didn't save that much: he spent almost every penalty-saving coin he could have had ahahah. Nice tournament for us. In my opinion, a quarter-final in 2014 ain't that difficult to reach with a lil' bit of luck

You know they had to actually win the games, score goals, work for it. They didn't show up and the other team just handed them the trophy. Euro 08 - Germany, World '10 Holland, and Euro '12 Italia - hmmmm, I never knew Germany, Holland and Italia were crap opponents
That's not what I wrote, but it's widely clear that Spain risked a lot in 2010 final (lol @ Robben) and even more last year where Italy went through England and Germany while Spain was on the edge of the eliminiation against Croatia and Portugal which, no, are not top european teams (except for Portugal maybe, or we wanna argue about that too?). Spain wanted to play slow and then it turned out in a win against us (we were too much tired also). And they also have had a lot of lucky but that's fair since without luck you can't even win a single trophy, imagine three straight.

Oh, and before you give me credits I don't have, I didn't say Spain didn't deserve all those trophy.

Quote:
What's wrong with the team having many Barca players? What is it - 6 straight years of Barca reaching UCL Semifinals and 2 UCL trophies in that year. 3 straight years of Real reaching the UCL semifinals is better considering what happened before that. Before you point to Barca's loss vs Bayern - Espana actually has a CB, an RB who can defend, a nice pool of 9s to choose from (Villa, Torres, Llorente, Negredo, Soldado, not to mention young guns like Morata, Tello, Rodrigo if they have amazing seasons). Espana also has a wealth of talent in addition to the talent from Barca players - especially in midfield.
What's wrong is that when Barša's cycle comes to an end, Spain will likely """end""" if they won't be able to catch any other player and I don't see many other Xavi or Iniesta in their team (U21 ha good elements, but we have to see how they'll play next years)

Lloris is part of MN's generation that's why I didn't include him. Anywho I f**ked up, the real best GK of the future - Courtois - he's already so beastly.

Dude it'll be a surprise if Italy don't at least make it to the QFs in 2014. I think, like I said b4, it's between Italy, Brazil, Germany and Spain for that next tournament. I think Italy's midfield next year if it is Pirlo, Verratti, De Rossi and Montolivo. That's defensively sound and can make some insane passes. I'd imagine Balo would be up front. Don't know who the attacking midfielder/winger/other striker would be though.

The Croatia match was in the group stage. 2-0 vs France, PKs vs Portugal, 4 - 0 vs Italia. England is on par with France and Portugal. So, Spain beat Italy. Italy beat Germany. Spain's defeated Germany before at Euro and WC. Hmm are we really going to talk about luck - a PK in the 95th minute against Australia.

Well it sounds like it when you say stuff like Spain won against poor opponents. Yet, the 3 finalists they've defeated for those trophies are three powerhouses traditionally +/or currently. Also WC knockout stages - Portugal, Paraguay, Germany, Holland - yup, some pretty bad competition there too.

Once again Spain isn't just Barca. The one thing which I'll reiterate which was wrong was yes - only the midfield trio was used for the tournament - Busquets, Xavi and Iniesta. That trio isn't strong enough defensively. That's why Del Bosque started Alonso for the World Cup and Euro Cup. I think next World Cup if it's not Busquets and Alonso starting together Busquets and Javi Martinez will have to start together. Too much is given up defensively (as noted in this tournament) when it's just that trio and 3 attackers. The other team is given way too much space. You always need 2 defensive shields to protect the d or else bad things happen. Cesc is probably one of the most talented players I've ever seen - deep-lying playmaker at Arsenal so he can occupy Xavi's spot but he can also play anywhere in attack. Thiago is the long-term heir to Xavi. Isco is the long-term heir to Iniesta. Also, Spain are current u19 champions and have just won their group in the u20 world cup in the apparent group of death and will now take on Mexico. A tournament which Italy, Germany and Holland aren't in.

I was disappointed in Mata starting. The guy hasn't really done anything for Spain's success except coming on when Italy were already defeated and getting a nice goal there. Anywho, to those thinking Espana need to make a radical shift - they don't. You stick to what helps you win - in Spain's case that's ball possession. Is Italy going to stray away from playing great d and launching counters - nope cuz that's what's made them win. You don't try to make something fit that doesn't. Yesterday Spain played ridiculously fast trying to match Brazil's pace of play which was a recipe for disaster. Last Euro before/during it Pique was talking to the media about ppl saying Espana needs to play faster, with a true winger, targetman, etc. Pique's response was - our style of play has won us everything so why is there this need to change. However, it'll be interesting to see if Alonso and/or Xavi will start next tournament. I think Javi Martinez will play every game next tournament. If Cesc is already starting he'll drop back to play deeper. I was hoping there'd be a challenge at the LB spot for Alba but I think it's his for a while. RB will definitely be a huge spot that'll be challenged with Arbeloa, Carvajal, Montoya and Azpi. That'll only be good for the squad. ST/CF is another worried position. Villa - I love what he's done but he's done. Me and my dad facepalmed almost when he came into the game yesterday. I think the CF spot next year will go to one of the following: Torres, Llorente, Soldado or Negredo. Torres will leave Chelsea in the summer. Soldado is probably staying at Valencia. Negredo will be pissed off he wasn't selected even though he had more league goals than Soldado and he has a good chance of leaving Sevilla this summer to a UCL team. Lastly, the wild card, if Llorente has a good season with Juventus, and he should, I think he could become Spain's CF. It's an interesting contrast of play with possession based style of Spain and a big man up front like Llorente but I think he could add some much needed physicality or steel to the starting unit. Barring any of those guys there's Tello, Moreno and Morata but I doubt they'll get enough playing time to get serious consideration.

One last thing, Brazil needed that win so much more than Spain did it's not even funny. Playing in your home country, the year before the world cup. I don't think the fan level of crazy is higher in any other country.

I noticed that Spain's goal attempts are very casual

If Pedro put some power into his shot Luiz wouldn't be able to clear it
