Sorry guys, the Dutch ain't throwing the game away. Apparently Donadoni (Italy manager) was talking about the Holland-Romania game and said something like "If Netherlands could beat the World Cup champs, and the runners-up as well by 3 goals, then I should expect the same against Romania"

So it seems like what he's basically saying is that if they throw the game, they are the wussys.

Oh and BTW, apparently Italy offered the Dutch coach a job for them so if they blow the game, Italy may back off the request. I'm not 100% sure if these were the exact words but i'll look it up right now...

Romania aren't slouches either Major. Sure their not as talented as the Italians or the French, but they've played probably better than both teams so far in this tournament. They might be the toughest competition for the Dutch in this first round so far.

I realize that but lets talk more on Holland now. They are, without a doubt, one of the favourites to win it all. And I mean like the 3rd best right now. I still can't see the Dutch blowing it thats all I'm saying. I guess we'll just have to wait and see right?

Third best? Who's played better than the Dutch so far in this tournament? I'd say its Holland's tournament to lose now. It's not even close in my opinion.

Portugal, Croatia, Spain...they're pretty hot as well

Yeah I realize maybe 3rd is a little low, but I don't think they have the experience of being a favourite to win it all.

1. Cros
2. Dutch
3. Spaniards
4. Portuguese

thats not going to happend. Even If someone offered him a job, they are not going to back off because of that. Bad feeling dont count when theres money on the way.

Holland are the favourites, but they have a similar problem that spain. Theyre defense is not that good and the in quarter, semis, finals series thats whas more important. Little mistake cost championships.

gambling places arent trusting the deutch either. I would say Portugal wins.

I'm sorry, but Croatia albeit did well I don't see them continuing their pace come 2nd round. Spain's defense will be exposed like it already has to a degree in the first round so far, but Portugal I agree could give the Dutch a run for their money. All the teams you mentioned though have played in much weaker groups, so comparing the Dutch to them at this point isn't entirely fair.

If Holland doesn't win this tournament, then I think Portugal will. JMO

Oh come on, Netherlands weren't in an easy group? Please, France and Italy, as we all know, are shit as of now. Romania just speaks for itself. Croatia had to get through Germany, who also have a chance of making a run as well. Portugal just barely made their division, and if you look at the group standings for that it was quite a close one.

Uhhhh ..... Germany has played like shit and don't seem to play well under Löw. How bad do we miss Klinsmann now?

Albeit both Italy and France are missing a couple key players, it still doesn't take away that the rest of their squads are still stronger and better than 3/4 of the teams in this tournament that are healthy. I think your not giving Dutch enough credit Major.

Were you even paying attention to Portugal? They breezed through the tournament and had they not rested their best players on Sunday they would ripped the Swiss a new one.

I think some guys are sleeping on Croatia here.

I honestly don't see Turkey giving them problems. If we play Portugal/Germany then yes, we will be in tough. But consider the fact that we have some big time experience, having to beat England in Wembley just to say we sent you home, and I don't think anyone should consider us a "lightweight".

But right now my picks, and of course biased so look at no. 2, are:

1. Croatia
2. Dutch
3. Spain
4. Portugal
5. Germany

Absolutely CG and by the way, I meant no disrespect of your Croatian team. I just think they don't have enough depth to win this entire cup. But, crazier things have happen. (i.e. Greece winning the last Euro Cup)

Oh I know Doc. I think our main issue is defence as I think we're too slow back there on the left side.

But our midfield is top notch and offense really hasn't been a problem.

I take offense to some of the writers and commentators who say we've been "lucky" and are still overrated.
