If the goal wasn't allowed to stand, it would set a dangerous prescendence. You'd see tons of defenders flopping all over the goal area to get an off-side call. It was the right call.

of course it was the right call...
its just been bitched about and complained about so much because it was against Italy.
they whine about anything.... everything is so damn unfair... blah, blah, blah.
whats even worse was that defender wasnt even hurt.. he just lay there like a moron.

Meh, goal or no goal the Italians were still beaten like a red-headed step child. But from a goal differential perspective I could see why they'd be concerned about it.

How could any sane person suggest even for a second that the Van Nistelrooy goal shouldn't count? It boggles my mind.

WOOOOOT, DOMINATING!!, We have to be cautious because even though we played really well, Russia was disapointing.

Everyone still remembers that we beat 4 - 0 Ukraine in the last world cup, we won every game, and then we lost in the first round againts france.

Still, I looove Villa, much more than Torres. Iniesta, Cesq and xavi are awesome too. Lets hope our defense improves.

Whoa. Check out the Swedes, 2 goals in 5 mins, up 2-0. Quite a surprise there against the defending Greek champs..

Its weird cause Greece was actually favoured to win today, by a fair amount too.

I'm not to worried about Group D anyway. Its the Azzurri that I'm worried about. At least until Friday when they kick Romania's shiny ass.

Ahah don't worry, I'm used to all of that by now

Im with the czechs too, always loved their style, I hope they recover some of their football. I like portugal too, but since they look like one of candidates to the title, and a probable enemy of spain, I dont want them to do too well. They are definetly the too teams I want to pass though.

Ronaldo is finally getting some help (Pepe and Meireles), but I think this will end in a 1-1 draw.

i don't think that Czechs will stand a good shot at winning if the first match is any indication.

Personally, I hate seeing Koller as the lone striker. He's too slow at this point in his career and we saw how ineffective he was against the Swiss. I'd like to see them play with two forwards today. Koller and sverkos? Maybe Milan Baros? He used to be a scoring machine!
