crazy game.

2-2

2 away goals is pretty big for Barcelona, but they were unfortunate to come away with the tie. I didn't agree with the penalty call.

This sets up a very interesting 2nd match. No Cesc for gooners, but no Pique and Puyol for Barca. I'd say this favors Arsenal.

Barca at home, I'll take that 10/10 times

could have been much worse for the Gunners, but glad it was a tie so it makes the next game important

Tough, tough game. Losing Cesc is going to be tough.

Walcott had some pace to him today which is a good thing. He looked like he gave a damn.

Almunia while huge needs to stay on his line sometimes.

Not happy going into Nou Camp tied 2-2 but I do think we can draw them there as well (2-2 at most). Going there and winning outright, anything can happen but I won't hold my breath.

To be honest, the 2-2 doesn't do any justice for Barca. Even though Arsenal essentially needs three away goals, and Barca are still in a phenomenal position to be in after the first leg, this could have been so much worse.

Barca destroyed Arsenal it wasn't even close for nearly 70% of the game. However, with football all it takes is a little luck and a flash of greatness and teams can be on equal footing or even down one or two. Ask me about FIFA WC06.

Back to this game, I hate to break it to the Arsenal fans out there but the Gunners aren't scoring three goals at Camp Nou. Nor will they win 1-0, therefore Arsenal is essentially out. It's not a complete guarantee, but it's almost as close as it gets. It's a shame as they're a quality side, but Barca is on another level.

Not to mention that Bayern will have my boy Schweini back and a healthy Arjen Robben who has been is scintillating form over the last few months. I might have to find an English pub to watch the game at, as I don't have Setanta. I'm sure those guys are going to be rather pleased when I show up with my Bayern jersey.

Losing Pique and Puyol will hurt the catalans. That's a big deal and will surely give Arsenal some hope (albeit losing Fabregas hurts them too).

I still think Barcelona will advance, but i don't think it's as much of a certainty as you make it out Rene.

surely that game will be on Rogers sportsnet won't it?

Anyways, i'd recommend this place called the "Main Event" at Yonge and Eglinton to watch the match. Beware, it has a lingering foul odor and it's full of jerks.

As of last week, when I checked, Setanta has both weeks of Bayern vs Man U and also the 2nd leg of Barca vs Arsenal. Sportsnet is simply trying to milk as many Setanta subscriptions as they can, but it's such a rip off. Who wants to pay $15 a month for two EPL games a week, Fulham vs Southend United in the Carling Cup and the odd champions league game. But I guess so many people are interested in their gaelic specialty.

No Fabregas, Arshavin, and someone else from Arsenal and they are inferior to begin with. They just don't have enough depth. Surely they have a ton of potential, but they're not on even close to stepping up and beating Barca at the Camp Nou. Now, I think it'll be an exciting game, but if Barca show up like they did in the first 20 or so mins, then Arsenal will be going down pretty early. All Barca needs is one goal, and the game is almost unreachable. I like Arsenal and enjoy watching them play, so hopefully it's an intense match.

Ya especially if your a Liverpool fan . I'd expect a Bayern fan going their for a CL game vs. Man U wouldn't be too pretty either.

Actually that will change soon. I believe Turkish airlines will be sponsoring Barce soon. As for an Ibra kit TERRIBLE choice. He is known as a "Vagabond Gypsy" in some parts. I'd personally call him a little something else but lets just leave it at that.

I don't think Arsenal have "no chance" as some have alluded to here.

Barca's achilles heel is their back 4 and losing Puyol is a big loss. We're used to playing without Cesc so it's not a big loss there.

The big thing for our side is we need to maintain composure. Arsenal came out apprehensive early on and needed to calm their nerves. Wenger needs to calm them down because they're as talented as any squad left.

How many people saw Man U being upset by Bayern this week? Things happen. And squeaking out a 1-0 victory isn't out of the question.

Anyways, who cares about this "Champions league"? Everyone knows it's meaningless and not important compared to the glorious Europa league!

Also, the FAN mentioned that Celtic may be the team to face Man united in Toronto. not sure how much weight there is to that rumour.

and HeDoes, are you saying that becuase of the Istanbul derby?

shit man, if puyol and pique were going to play, i wouldnt be so mad but thats a huge loss. The back 4 has been suspect all year long and those have been 2 of our most consistent defenders. I hope gabby milito plays and i wouldnt be too shocked to see barca lose.

Marid-Barca and Manu-Liverpool are not derbies..They are big games but not derbies..

IMO,

-Boca-River
-Fener- Galatasaray
-Olympiakos-Phanatinaikos
-Roma-Lazio
-Celtics- Rangers

are the top 5 derbies..

Inter-Milan is a derby but not in top 5 in my opinion..

My criteria on a top derby is mainly high tension, hate, crazy fans etc. rather than quality football game.
