would have been even better if Robben wasn't sitting in the luxury box and Rooney is injured, but I don't think is serious

United just doesn't win in Germany. History proves it.

Bayern were vastly superior and deserved the outcome. The question now is, can Bayern stop United at Old Trafford?

interesting result with Munich beating United. must say i'm a bit shocked by that (but happy nonetheless ). Lyon keeps rolling - although they did land a pretty easy oponent which is fair considering who they had to knock of to get where they are now.

Anyways, who cares about this "Champions league"? Everyone knows it's meaningless and not important compared to the glorious Europa league!

Also, the FAN mentioned that Celtic may be the team to face Man united in Toronto. not sure how much weight there is to that rumour.

and HeDoes, are you saying that becuase of the Istanbul derby?

I'm glad United lost! Everyone saying it's a lock that Barca and Man U are meeting in the final. Good teams are still left.

Also, plan on sneaking out of work early today to watch the big game against Barca. Hoping for at worst, a 1-1 result. Getting that away goal will be key.

Didn't get to see any CL games yesterday and unfortunately I wouldn't be watching today either . Rooney getting carted out of the pitch was a bigger loss for Manu than the actually game. An away goal is not a total loss but losing Rooney they are just not the same. Its not like last year when they could fall back on Tevez and Ronaldo.

The United hate I can understand but why Rooney?

He doesn't roll around on the ground like Drogba....

He doesn't whine and cry like Ronaldo....

.... yet he's one of the best finishers in the game and plays like a little pit bull.

God I hope that Man U. can rally and get through... because I was REALLY looking fwd. to seeing a final with Rooney and Messi.

Actually, i'd rather the injury was worse and it takes him longer to return to the pitch.

Although... i did really enjoy last year's Messi and Rooney showdown. Yeah i enjoyed that immensly!!!

TO, I've never, in my entire life been able to handle Rooney.

He complains about dirty tactics all the time, but coming through the ranks he was a dirty player.

And while he may have toned it down, his constant going to the ref to challenge any foul called on him tires me.

For me, he's up there with Drogba and Cristiano as players I just can't stand.

Lol.... is there a great player out there who DOESN'T challenge the refs?

I suppose that I just have a soft spot in my heart for him because he doesn't play scared and finally gave England a guy who could finish in big games.

Not entirely true.

Rooney's midfield carries him more than anything for England. Yes, Rooney will score the goals, but I'd argue the best English side I ever saw play was the 1996-2000 squads.

Rooney's squads haven't impressed me that much.

A midfield is the heart of ANY team.... that's where the majority of the action is.... and England has always has a great one.... but their inability to finish has driven me insane on more than one occasion.

Lampard is a prime example... looks like a God when he plays for Chelsea.. and then forgets how to hit the damn net when he suits up for England.

Rooney gives them a legit threat to score whenever he's close to the box... and he doesn't usually squander opportunities.

Coaching has long been a problem for England as well.... but I think that this could be their best side ever going to the WC.
