I may be a little bitter, but I somehow see Brazil winning this World Cup. Let's remember, no European team has won the WC outside of Europe.
Yeah, in a worldcup you never know or an elimination competition for that matter. The favourites are Spain and Brazil. Brazil is the most scary team because they are playing effective football a la Germany but also ful of players that will kill you in one play. Spain just plays the best football and right now and no team is close. The best thing is that they control the posetion so much that the oposing team usually really struggles to get in rythm. A team were Cesq may not even start is just scary. Argentina sucks as a team, but with such a loaded attack you can never forget them. Germany and Italy are what they are. Not in the best momment but they will always find a way to screw you. Holland would be the other big favourite but they remind me to the spain of old. Good team, nice style but I think they will struggle in the big games.

Looks like we're in a pretty similar position, DVS.

I'm just annoyed that i don't have a match this weekend. Liverpool play Wigan on monday. I'm not a big fan of weekday games.
Yup that loss was horrible. Napoli/Palermo/Juventus/Sampdoria are all in a fight. Genoa and Fiorentina are also good sides but mutu got banned and Inter raped Genoas roster in the summer (Mottta and Milito).

I'd say yes Juve and Liverpool are mirroring each others seasons. Both teams have had key injuries all year and both are fighting for a CL spot to save face.

Good news is Grosso came in as a halftime sub and scored the GWG beating Fiorentina on the Road 2-1. The home stretch for Juve is a pretty tough schedule though.

As for EPL I'm having fun following it a bit. Arsenal is kind of getting into the hunt but they always seem to fade though. We see

Here's one thing i know followd by 2 questions.

Liverpool will not finish in the top four.

So that begs the questions:

1. Will any of Liverpool's 'big name' players want out of town with no Champions League next year?

2. Will Rafa be forced to sell any of them as the lack of team earnings next year will surely not look good to our pathetic owners who are already swimming in debt?

ok... here's another question: will Rafa get the axe at the end of the year?

I entered the contest for the tickets for the final yesterday. Only 11000 are been sold by Fifa. Crossing fingers.

Dude, we'll totally take Torres off of your hands.

Fat chance:

not so sure your team will have the money for that. Last i checked your finances were on par with ours.

That said, no Liverpool manager in charge (Rafa or whoever replaces him) would even consider selling Torres to Manunited. This would never, ever, ever, ever, ever happen.

does Liverpool have big name players anymore? I think only kuyt and torres have a shot at playing for a better team, cause gerrard wont leave

Rafa will go to Juve or Inter, once Jose goes to Real

What? I know you don't follow the team as closely as me, but the following certainly qualify as big names: Torres, Gerrard, Kuyt, Mascherano, Benayoun, Reina. One tier down you have guys like Daniel Agger, Glen Johnson, Ryan Babel, Albert Riera.

you would think with all those stars L'pool would finish top 4
Benayoun and Riena are good but not stars, I dont see big clubs forking over big money for them

top 4 you mentioned could start for any cub, those are the big name guys

Banayoun is amazing with the ball, and Reina is one of the best keepers in the world.

I know they are just rumours but I don't care when they come across the table it makes me happy for one day.

Quote:
According to transfer market insider and former Napoli sporting director Pierpaolo Marino, Juventus and Bayern Munich have agreed on a deal for next season. Apparently, Brazilian attacking midfielder Diego will join the German club, while French winger Franck Ribery will move to Juve this summer.

How nice. CL time with Juve playing the Junior circuit again. I like Arsenal and Fiorentina today. We see what will happen today.

Mascherano is gold. Big name with Torres and Gerard. Ribery is probably going to Real. He has said thats almost his only option but who knoes. Cesq is the true big name out there. Arsenal cant keep him, they need money big time and they are doing a fine job not showing it. Apparently he wants to go to Barsa and his second option is Real, but Xavi and Guardiola dont want him yet, they prefer to wait a couple of years when xavi is fading because of age.

Does Juve have enough money in the reserves to acquire him? bayern wanted at least 60 million pounds last summer for him.

First off its all just rumours.

The rumour did state with a "swap" for diego so I'm sure they would reduce some of the money sent Bayerns way.

Also, don't ask me how but Juve were among the top 10 grossing Soccer teams last year and also drew a profit. With a new pitch coming their way and being debt free (before the expense of the new pitch of course) I'm sure they could throw some money around.

Personally I don't like Ribery. I think he is highly overrated but if Juve wants to throw some money around so be it. Villa on the other hand would be a dream.
