I'm not Irish (or even a France hater) and i'm fuming. Gutsy performance, and to have it nullified like that... just sucks.
I don't even want to think of the rage that must have been going through the pubs in Dublin..... what a horrible way to lose a game... and a berth to the WC.

On a positive note, one of my good buddies is Greek and he was stoked to see his guys get in.

IMO, Toronto needs to bring in at least 3 good new players. 1 striker, 1 defender (although they should probalby bring in 2), and 1 true wingman.
So your saying TFC needs help in every position and maybe just good enough at goal

I don't blame you apparently Preki said the team as of now isn't good enough to win either. Personally, I'd just like to see some decent soccer at BMO. I was a regular visitor for a bit but this year I just went to the opener and after that didn't even bother.

I'd like to see your soccer jersey collection. I'm guessing you must have a Torres or Gerrard. Dam if that kid Torress could stay healthy i'd say he one of the best in the world with ease.
actually none of my soccer shirts have names on them (except for a Spain Torres, and a Liverpool Dalglish). I've been thinking of doing up one of my TFC ones with Dichio though. I have 8 different Liverpool jerseys from different years btw.

Because he is a symbol to make TFC supporters think they actually got history and a product on the field.

The whole Dichio thing makes me sick from the song at 22 minutes or whatever to the DICHIO love. I'm sorry maybe a little dillusional but I've seen these "hardcores" in action and it just puts a bad taste in my mouth.

Saying that Dichio was a decent MLS striker just got here too late in his career

It has nothing to do with how good he was. He was a guy that people just really liked is all.... lots of that has to do more with his character than his actual skill level. I was a dichio fan.

I totally agree with you about the false sense of history.. all of this Toronto till i die nonsense (when the team's only been here for three years) is stupid... or all of the song stealing from other teams... yeah - THAT'S lame, but the dichio 24 song is actually pretty original. plus it commemorates the first goal... i like celebrating it.

You suck you know. So hard to pin polarized arguments with

I know and how do you feel they steal from Liverpool the most?

The whole TFC overhype bothers me. Its very very hard to watch a TFC game and say "wow thats really good football I'll be loving this stuff". You have to be pure diehard to get ur butt there every weak that I admit. Its that or be drunk on your ass. I tested that theory and went sober a couple of times and then I figured out I could be heading into a drinking problem

Just my take and its valid I"m pretty sure one TFC games kills the beer sales of one Raptor or Leaf game.

Alot of the times the supporters groups irritate me. For all the good they do to the atmosphere at BMO, they also do a lot of annoying shit.

Especially the north end elite. I usually sit above them and man those guys suck sometimes. Sometimes it's like those guys spend more time concentrating on themselves and not on the game.

As for the quality of the matches and enjoying them sober.... i find TFC have just been so damn inconsistant. There are games i've gone to where they've looked awesome as a team, and there were games that they've looked like amateurs. Still, i love just being at the stadium and enjoying the game live. I'm a pretty vocal fan at the games so i enjoy myself. beer or no beer

I had sitting in south end. They are annoying, shitty view, and their too busy basking in their own glory to realize what's going on in the game.

I love 104 I think it is, directly opposite NEE on the other side. Great view, great fans who are intelligent about the sport and not their to get plastered and sing out of tune songs.

I goto Main Event (Manchester United Supporters pub) and they have an excellent balance of both.

Supporters do annoy me. The fact that its a small MLS soccer club that has multiple supporter clubs really bothers me. Its not like many outside BMO field really care about the team (see TV ratings) so its pretty much a locally supported club. Why the multiple supporters clubs I have no clue.

As for seating I like the grandstands for viewing but pretty much will take almost any seat the view is good almost anywhere. Just don't have a seat infront of a fat guy its really annoying. Happened to me at 113 I hope it never happens again

Trying to decide which soccer player to hate?

Look no more!

Try Amr Zaki:

http://soccernet.espn.go.com/news/st...ngland&cc=5901

Quote:
Amr Zaki has astonishingly claimed that he will not consider signing for Portsmouth on the grounds that they employ two Israelis - Tal Ben Haim and Avram Grant - as well as an Algerian in the form of Nadir Belhadj...

....But Zaki has courted controversy by claiming that the presence of Grant and defender Ben Haim means he would not consider joining Portsmouth. After the recent bad blood between Egypt and Algeria in World Cup qualifying, the presence of Belhadj is also an issue.

"I refused their offer before, but now joining Portsmouth is no longer an option for me," Zaki said on his official website.

"After Portsmouth signed an Israeli player and also hired an Israeli football director a possible move was ruled out. On top of that, no way could I play at Portsmouth with an Algerian within in their ranks."
sickening if you ask me.

Egypt has threatened to pull out of international football for at least two years if Fifa does not punish Algeria over alleged crowd trouble at last week’s World Cup play-off.

Egypt’s football association has filed a complaint with Fifa claiming its fans were attacked after the game in Khartoum, which Algeria won 1-0 to book their place in South Africa.

The Egyptian FA said in a statement: “It was a tragedy. The Algerian fans terrorised our supporters and threatened to take their lives with numerous weapons. The international football community should condemn such disastrous incidents and Fifa should take action. If Fifa do not intervene, we are rea

Egypt is a major loss the the football world. How will i ever go on knowing they plan on pulling out of international football..........get real. haha

If a teams supporters terrorized your fans then of course there should be some fines/sanctions but threatening to quit isn't really going to do much for them (FIFA) to care really.

They don't care about fair play (see Ireland vs France) and a host of other issues for international and domestic games/leagues.

If you ask me, all the old bastards need to be purged from FIFA/UEFA and new younger blood that are with the times and technology need to be inserted.

FIFA is like a circle jerk gentlemens club. You're either with them or against them. Come to think of it they sound like George W Bush.

I feel for the Irish but let's be real, cheating happens everyday in football and it goes unpunished because they ALLOW it to happen. Refs ALLOW the shirt pulling, the dirty fouls by not making the red card calls sooner and so on.

There's just way too much wrong with football right now and it pisses me off that FIFA choses to ignore the many issues facing our beautiful sport.

Man, i could go on and on so i better just stop lol.

Anyone see Tottenham lay a dirty sanchez on wigan?? Insane!

Jatt Dogg couldn't say it better and if anyone would think FIFA isn't corrupt they got another thing going to them. I always have a hard time watching international play because of it. Even if club play does the "job" as well so to speak I could at least tolerate it.

Anyways, Group play this year in CL is fantastic and starts up today. I don't think I'll have time to watch anything but I set my PVR for a couple games at the least.
