honestly, they didn't deserve to make the playoffs even if they had won. Not after all the times they shit the bed in the last month, month and a half.

The Chicago loss a few matches ago was the last straw for me personally.

I kinda gave up on them back then and since then haven't really been that 'concerned' about this playoff run.

Either way, chin up... there's always next year. maybe they'll get their shit straightened out over the offseason.

In a way I'm kind of happy. TFC fans totally overpay for a bad product and get what they deserve. Mo Johnson has done an ample job of bringing in talent but theonly problem is the talent isn't in the right places. Mo do yourself a favour get the team a Centre Back and a real striker or two. Well the no grass excuse can be checked off Mo's excuse book and maybe he can run this team to the ground like he did the red bulls.

Anyways my TFC rant is over for now congrats on Juve winning two in a row (mind you against inferior opponents) maybe Ciro will actually wake up and play GIO.

never should have let Tyrone Marshall leave. That was his biggest mistake.

and it's good that someone mentioned his past track record as a manager. He did dick all with New York. He actually got fired in his first year as full manager (if i'm not mistaken), and this was the enough for ML$E to give him the job.

Way to go after someone who has even remotely proven himself!

Ya Marshall was a beast. He had Vidic type character for the lack of knowing enough B grade soccer players for comparison.

However; I don't totally blame Mo for the Marshall trade as I'm not entirely sure what his Canadian Quota was at the time for the reason in bringing in Serioux (yellow card happy but ample if he has a good partner) who is younger and of course from my "favourite" part of toronto.

I'm not buying excuses either. It took Seattle all of but one year to be competitive and TFC fans who are just as loyal should expect no different.

i thought Marshall was left unprotected in the expansion draft and that's how he ended up on Seattle.

I can't remember who we traded for Serioux.

Ya Marshall went to Seattle for a pick and about a week later Serioux was picked up from Dallas for the pick they got from Marshall trade.

Essentially being a marshall for serioux deal. Not exact but like i said you really have to account on Canadian Quota rules. Canada doesn't exactly have a derth of soccer players. If your really good (Deguzmans little brother) you see most just changing passports.

Just look at the team (Brennan, Dero, Deguzman). It'll be interesting when TFC has to "out-scout" the Whitecaps for Canadian Talent. Needless to say The Lenarduzzi run Whitcaps I believe has as much larger brain trust.

Seattle brought up 6+ players from their USL team
USL and MLS isn't a big talent disparity

Toronto FC dismisses Cummins - The Globe and Mail

Quote:
Toronto FC dismissed interim head coach Chris Cummins on Tuesday after a disappointing season that ended out of the playoffs with a 5-0 drubbing in New York.

Cummins' contract was not renewed.

Director of soccer Mo Johnston said: “We have decided to move forward without Chris for next season.”

The team hopes to have a new head coach in place by the start of pre-season in February.

this should come to no surprise. Really the writings been on the wall for a long time.

Can't see why this job is appealing to anyone good now that it's vacant though.

Frankly i don't know why we don't have a traditional football manager (GM & coach) like soccer teams do everywhere else in the world. Mo tried to do this in the first year.... does anyone know if most other MLS teams work like this?

I know that Seattle voes for their GM evry couple of years

Good. Let the in house cleaning begin. Mo Johnston should be the next to go. I know Attakora casually and he has mentioned to me that there are a couple players on the team who shall remain nameless, who are pretty much poison to the team. The club should get rid of these "poisonous" players and add ones who actually care about the team and winning.

Well I dunno how great your sources are but as an outsider I'd say Amado is one of those "poisonous" players. He don't really care about TFC just here to collect a paycheck. I'd also say that teammates may be unhappy with Dero hogging the ball all year but not as far as poisonous. I'd also ship out Vitti for sure.

As for MO I think he getting another crack at it. He said he wants a coach with MLS experience. I guess that takes out a ton of options.

Also, you heard it here first the Whitecaps will have an MLS playoff birth before TFC

Mo has done a good job collecting talent, coaches have been a problem though but he's only brought in 1 so far
the players he drafted have done well and he did sign a good DP and brought in the league MVP, but now with real grass hopefully there is no problem signing players

Wow Liverpool lost to Arsenal. Makes you think if that Man U game was just an adrenaline shot for them or not. I guess we will see and depth has always been an issue for them.

Only more important news (to me anyways) Juve stomps Sampdoria 5-1 to try to get back on track as well.

Honestly, that game was probably the most glorious letdown i've ever seen when it came to a must win, season on the line type of game.

I mean it truly was a faill of most epic, truly truly epic proportions.

I was watching it with some friends which was a good thing for my sanity because by the end of it we were cracking some jokes (at TFC's expense) and at least enjoying ourselves. Had i watched it at home alone i probably would have been beyond mad.

Anyroad, i will end my post on a bright note....

Liverpool 2

Man Utd. 0

I really think this match is the turning point for this Liverpool team. It was exactly what we needed - right when our backs were up against the wall.... No Gerrard, Carragher struggling, defensive issues....a game against Man. Utd... And holy shit did Liverpool fucking deliver! I'm in such a good mood!
Freakin' Liverpool. *grumble*

GG for your lads there Fancy. They played well.

More than anything else I'm really psyched for England in this WC though. I think that they might finally have the coaching (and the players) to get it done.

*prays*
