balls.

Dichio has been one of the more consistant and GOOD Toronto FC players all season long. I agree that endurance was an issue for him, but it's an issue for pretty much lots of guys especially (chad Barrett and he's young FFS!). Hell half of our team looks pathetic and stagnant once the 70 minute mark of a game rolls around.

Danny was one of the few guys that i actually had faith in when he was on the pitch. He knew where the other players were and had a great sense of team play.

There's no coincidence that the team plays better with him on the field than without him.... and it's true because it's the case ALL THE TIME.

I'm really pissed with this forced "retirement" of the heart and soul of the team. THE HEART AND SOUL.

I'm definately less of a Toronto FC 'fan' today than i was yesterday.
Will DeGuzman change that? maybe... but for now i'm mad at this team.

ENGLAND!!!!!!!! 5-1 thrashing. Send them Croatians home crying! lol.

I'm so f-ing excited right now. We demolished them twice and its just fantastic news after they shat on us and stopped us from qualifying for euro 08. Now i just hope they dont make it at all in a second place berth. Im cruel, i know.

Spain qualifies too. Good to see them through!

Screw you Jatt!!!!

Hahaha....just joking.

The way we're playing we deserved to lose 10 - 0. Terrible. I've never seen them play that bad.

Hopefully when we get Modric and Corluka back we can finish strong. England deserved to win and look composed under Capello.

LOL... Hey man i feel your pain...that was us last year....well we didnt get caned but the outcome sucked. At least you guys still have a chance to make it and turn things around completely.

Ya england was dominant for most of the game. Easily could have been 7-1 or so with the chances heskey (my homeboy) missed.

Capello has done a fantastic job with this team. I am happy to have the italian on board for sure!

You coached talked some smack before taht game and got his ass handed to him. I wouldnt be too happy about his coaching display today either.

ARGENTINA LOST AGAIN. HAHAHA. honestly man, mardona is a fucking idiot and deserves to get fired. Why does he keep playing players that play in the argentina league that SUCK. Put diego milito on the team and you need riquelme back.

I actually enjoy seeing Argentina lose. I cant stand Maradone, he is a joke. Too bad Brazil is not losing too. I hate that team. They play like the Germany of former years. Capello can sometimes be a douche, but he is a no nonsense kind of guy, wich its exactly what england needed.

Danny Dichio was far from a global soccer hero when he first came to Toronto FC in the spring of 2007.

He was an effective blue-collar pro who had logged time at some of England's less glamorous clubs. But the big striker quickly became part of Toronto FC folklore when he crossed the Atlantic to play in the MLS, scoring the expansion team's first ever goal.

"It wasn't a great goal, by any means," Dichio recalled Wednesday. "But it meant a lot to the future of this club, and I'll take that memory with me wherever I go."

Dichio, who turns 35 next month, announced his retirement Wednesday and plans to enter the coaching ranks with Toronto FC. Dichio will serve as an ambassador for the soccer team and help with coaching, starting initially with the academy players before moving to the first team next year.

"It's a big step for me. It's going to be a hard transition but it's one I'm looking forward to," Dichio said.

Making him the national coach was definitely a joke. I enjoy it too, but not because of him, much more because I hate Messi.

Would LMAO if they miss the World Cup.

I'm over the moon that Argentina is doing badly. I'm english it's expected that the hatred i there lol.

Nah but a team like Argentina can never be counted out. They SHOULD be there and still have a good chance to make it. Even if they dont get an automatic birth, the qualification spot (5th) plays the 4th place finisher in CONCACAF (usa, mexico, honduras, costa rica, el salvador and trinidad/tobago). Ummm, provided usa, mexico get through Argentina should be able to beat any of the remaining teams.

It will be interesting to see what happens though. Maradona needs to be fired either way. Even if they sneak into the worldcup, he doesnt have what it takes to win it with argentina. Fire his ass!

DeGuzman is officially signed for 3 1/2 years

and...
Quote:
The board of governors for Exhibition Place on Friday approved plans by Maple Leafs Sport & Entertainment to install natural grass to replace the body-busting artificial surface used by Toronto FC for soccer matches.

The plan, which has the backing of the MLS franchise’s passionate fan base, requires approval from Toronto city council on Sept. 30 before MLSE can move ahead with the change.

As part of a proposal that would see MLSE spend a total of $5.5-million at BMO Field, Lamport Stadium and a site in Etobicoke near Lakeshore Lions Arena, the pro sport group said it was offering Toronto a “no risk” upgrade of the rapidly degenerating artificial surface. The propsal got not only the backing of Exhibition governors, but of Toronto Mayor David Miller.

Couldn't be happier about the progress of grass at BMO. This shit better get done for the start of next season. Also, i'm very happy about the JDG signing. good number of years too.

just got back from the Scally's (Liverpool supporters pub) to watch LFC completely manhandle Burnley. Now i'll watch the mighty Barca win. And hopefully later TFC get some revenge against Colorado Rapids.

Looks like it will be a good weekend boys!

WOW, close call for Chelsea this morning against Stoke. A little too close for comfort. Thank god for Malouda.

It wasn't bullshit at all fancy. Did you see the pressure Chelsea had on Stoke for the entire 2nd half? Stoke were lucky they weren't losing by 5 or 6 goals.

I was very happy to see that too.

Watching the last WC without England in it was heartbreaking.

Lampard is FINALLY looking like he's not going to choke on the international scene. Nice!

I love Aaron Lennon. I hope that he & Joe Cole get more burn in this WC.
