yeah no kidding man. I heard Pep talking about it eto'o on GolTV and you could clearly see that he just wanted him gone. Internal problems for sure. from a skill and financial level, i don't like this deal, but it may end up being better for the team.

Sounds like the bomb. I'll be with my brother in-law as well. It'll be his first TFC and he's a massive footy fan.

I just want a chip butty.

As for the Gold cup. The save off the penalty by the Costa Rican defender (during the actual game) was amazing. to dive and flat out catch the ball like that was very impressive.

the Mexican fans were pretty disrespectful though with all the beer throwing. too bad.

frankly, i hate this tournament and this confederation as a Canadian. It sucks being a Canadian soccer supporter.
Yeah tha Costa ricans got lucky on that penalty kick. Good save.

It's been two straight gold cup tournaments where Canada has been robbed of advancing! Last time a bogus off side call disallowed a goal and this year a bullshit penalty called against them cost them the game! It really does hurt being a canadian supporter. Especially for the players and Canadian soccer program who've worked hard to get better and SHOW IT on the field only to be setback by lousy refeering!!!

Brother, you gotta point me in the direction of that when we're there. I can never find that.

I don't think he's a Manc supporter. He grew up in Poland, so I'm sure he has a favourite club team from back home. Probably Wisła Kraków.

fuck, don't remind me. that one hurt the most.
Canada just needs to win in spite of the way things are in CONCACAF. It's bloody difficult to win when no one (including the confederation and the officiating take you seriously).

Also it was such a shame that we didn't just stick with Stephen Hart during the world cup qualifying. That man has us playing good football and i really think we could still be in the thick of things was it not for the CSA monkeys and Dale Mitchel. Have i said it sucks being a Canadian soccer supporter? lol.

Kolo Toure is heading to Man City for 15million euros. Makes sense for Arsenal now that they have Thomas Vermaelen, but who knows how well he will play. Kolo Toure is a very consistant player, nice pick up by Man City.

Pfff.. it doesn't make sense. Vermaelen is overrated. Ajax got really lucky by hitting the jackpot with him - they paid almost as much as Man C for Touré. Aargh.

One of the few consistent players for Arsenal and they just let him go.

Sucks to be an Arsenal fan.

Watching the TFC blow a 2-1 lead to our hated rivals the Columbus Crew was 1 of the most agonizing things I've had to endure as a TFC fan! Man was that painful! They couldn't even hold on to the draw! TFC gave up 3 pts and 1st place in the east. Plus Gueverra got injured...FUUUUUUUCCCCCCCCCCC!

One bright spot was the play of newly acquired Ali Gerba who scored in his MLS debut with the FC. Finally FC get somebody to finish plays on the offensive end and put the ball behind the keeper.

I would just like to say one thing...the game is called SOCCER, not "football"

That always bothered me for some reason. Nice to get it off my chest.

I really suck at "football". I gave it up when I was 8. Over a span of about 3 years, I only scored 2 or 3 goals in my entire "football" career.

Football is the word given to a number of similar team sports, all of which involve (to varying degrees) kicking a ball with the foot in an attempt to score a goal. The most popular of these sports worldwide is association football, more commonly known as just "football" or "soccer". However the word football is applied to whichever form of football became most popular in each particular part of the world. Hence the English language word "football" is applied to "gridiron football" (a name associated with the North American sports, especially American football and Canadian football), Australian football, Gaelic football, rugby league, rugby union, and related games.

So?

Footy is not about scoring goals. Too many kids today get caught up in the need to score goals. For e.g. I think I've only scored 3 goals in my footy "career". But I never saw it as my job to score, I saw it as the job of my strikers and to provide the offence. I was a central midfielder, my job was to make sure flow was established, make sure we held posession and feed the ball to the right guys. It was more about making the right play then getting mine and every coach I ever had encouraged me to play this way. Hell, I remember one game where I was "suspended" for one game and the assistant coach said, more than any player, we'll miss Chris in the midfield because of what he's able to do. That game we lost 3-0 to Owen Sound because and had a total of 2 shots on net. Not on target, but on net.

Again, if I needed to score, I could. I could always bend the ball, but I'd rather be the smart player that helps the team win. I hate when I've coached the game and kids get upset at not scoring, or hate playing defender, or even midfield on the flanks. I always here, but how can I score from there and they begin to run to the ball instead of getting into a position to optimize their chance.

/rant.
