yeah, champions league game > anything, quality playing wise obviously. But a whole coutry cheering for the same team. The ambient you see in the bars, tv, etc..., nothing can beat that.

ya the hype is nice. Everyone talking about soccer and all. Most "soccer haters" just have more to dig in about in though. I don't mind the World Cup and I will watch as much as I can. Just saying the quality doesn't match the hype. Their will be 1-3 games that will be priceless so I'll wait for them to come

meh, spain probably got the easiest group. One never knows, but apart of honduras, who are fairly decent, it should get pretty ugly. Who knows though.

this is it

only team that constantly attacks is Germany, everyone trying to copy Italy
Brazil is built off a counter attack and North Korea sent 3 people to go forward, difficult to attack
Brazil = Inter style

people forget that Korea of the North is good, only allowed 7 goals in 16 games
Portugal and Cote d'Ivoire better watch out

Ronaldo should win a gold medal for diving

yeah, north korea is not that bad. Apparently they completely destryed greece in a clasification for the worlds game. But the idea of brazil playing like that is painful anyway.

I agree that quality of the games are overmatched by the hype. I think a large part of that is that the players don't know each other as well as they know their teammates on their club teams. That and ego's. and you know there are ego problems on some teams like England when certain players are made to play different positions, play together with certain players, etc.

Anyways, the commentator during the Portugal / I.C. match kept on going on and on about how Brasil were automatic group winners. Sure they are a strong team which has historically done well, but like you guys are saying, they haven't done enough to deserve the love they get. Even in qualification they weren't up to their usual level, so i am definitely taking a wait and see approach with them. All i know is it would be a shame if Ivory Coast didn't make it out of that group.

Swiss hold on... wow. just crazy.

Still, you figure that Spain will find a way past the group stage. They should still win their next two matches. I picked Spain and Chile and i will stick by it.

Damn these games are tight and scoring is at a premium. I wonder if the complaints about that jabulani ball are starting to carry some weight.

Ball shmall. I think it has more to do with the amount of very aggressive, physical defending that they are allowing.

Wow. One of the biggest upsets in WC history?

Belsius must be kicking puppies right now.

Before the game I would have guessed at least 4-0 for Spain.... and they couldn't even pot one?

Incredible.
