UFC 99: THE COMEBACK

should be a good card:

Rich Franklin Vs. Wanderlei Silva
Cheick Kongo Vs. Cain Velasquez
Mike Swick Vs. Ben Saunders
Marcus Davis Vs. Dan Hardy
Spencer Fisher Vs. Caol Uno
Mirko Cro Cop Vs. Mostapha Al Turk

i'll be watching this somewhere downtown TO, with some buddies... if any of you guys are downtown lemme know - maybe we'll meet up.

i'm definitely rooting for Franklin, he used to be my favorite MMA fighter back in the days...
Congo in a decision...
Saunders will have the KO of the night...
"The Irish Hand Grenade" , who is IMO fakin awesome will destroy Hardy...
UNO's a veteran so i'll give him the nod over Spencer - although i dont know much about him.
and i'll go with Cro Cop just becuase i've always wanted him to do well since he joined UFC... he just needs to stay away from head kicks LOL.

I would have gone to this if I still lived in Germany

Franklin/Velasquez win

Nites 06-12-2009 04:02 PM

Cro Crop Wins VIA Left Head Kick KO. Wanderlei Wins VIA KO. Cain Val VIA TKO.

Tommy2Tymes 06-12-2009 05:10 PM

yeah insider. it'd be fun to watch that event together then, lol

TORaptor4Ever 06-12-2009 09:39 PM

Glad that Crocop is getting back in the game. Hopefully his mind is right now.

Very eager to see Velasquez fight someone who isn't a tomato can. This guy is getting SOOOO much hype that it's crazy. I hope he can live up to it. Beatiing Kongo (who is pretty darn good) would be a nice start.

Franklin/Silva... I have no idea who's gonna win that one. Should be a great fight.

Tommy2Tymes 06-13-2009 06:14 PM

5/6, too bad the only guy i actually cared about winning lost.

TORaptor4Ever 06-13-2009 07:00 PM

Filipović "cro cop" defeated Al-turk via TKO (Strikes) at 3:06 of round 1

Ugo Ferst 06-14-2009 04:10 AM

via poke to the eye, now he is leaving the ufc, he is a bitch

TORaptor4Ever 06-14-2009 11:05 AM

Kongo should train with Chuck Lidell and learn his takedown defense. If he could ever master that he'd be near unbeatable. His punching power is ridiculous. He nearly KO'd Cain about 3 times. Smart gameplan by Cain though.

Ugo Ferst 06-14-2009 04:54 PM

was the very, VERY obv gameplan, Kongo has been dominated by decent wrestlers many times in the past, Cain is much better then decent, he is an elite wrestler.

Mirko "Cro Cop" Filipovic's return to the Ultimate Fighting Championship was a short one. Not long after stopping Mostapha Al-Turk in the first round of UFC 99 on Saturday at Lanxess Arena in his first fight in the UFC since back-to-back losses in 2007, Filipovic informed UFC president Dana White that he had signed a three-fight contract with the Japan-based DREAM. White had signed Filipovic less than a month ago to a one-fight deal, the first time in more than nine years that he'd done that. He had worked out terms on two additional fights, but said he'd only put pen to paper for Saturday's bout.
