![]() Ues, Pierre barely one last time, but he has improved greatly since then. Wont be a cake walk but I expect GSP to really take it to Penn and leave no doubts in anyones mind this go around.
Fight of the night is gonna be Guida and Diaz though. Should be lots of trash talking and leather throwing. |

![]() GSP is a complete UFC fighter, no glaring weakness
If you watch UFC Primetime, St. Pierre trains with a team of fighters (Rashad Evans, Nathan Marquardt, Keith Jardine and a couple others). It was funny seeing St. Pierre in -20 degree weather always in the gym and Penn in 20 degree weather jogging outside, going for a swim and shopping |

![]() I hate MMA scoring, takedowns that do nothing and lay and pray techniques garner too many points. I love GSP, he is in my top 5 of fighters, and i dont really like BJ, just cuz his personality rubs me the wrong way. But..... BJ won that 1st fight.
BJ is prob the best boxer in all of MMA, he trains with legendary boxing trainer Freddy Roach who thinks BJ could be a world champion Boxer if he put his efforts there. Put it this way, his jab has KO power. He also may be the most flexible fighter in history, his legs are like rubber, he is basically impossible to submit and he has a butterfly guard that is so difficult to deal with. He is a BJJ master, black belt, not many better then him (tho there are a few). Most importantly, he is flat out tough, he loves to exchange and has an ego the size of MJ himself, which i think helps great athletes fight thru pain etc GSP is the MUCH better conditioned athlete, he always comes in phenominal shape and has one of the best camps out there (team Jackson) and as another poster alluded to, trains with some of the best in the world. His wrestling may be the best in all of MMA (which is funny because he doesnt come from a wrestling background, but routinely has outwrestled olympic calibre wrestlers like Matt Hughes), his striking is crisp, and tho not as powerful as BJ, i would give a slight speed advantage, he has amazing punch/kick/punch/takedown combo's. His chin can be considered somewhat suspect, as the TKO to the hands of the not so famous for his hands Matt Serra can attest to. He has sometimes seemingly taken opponents too lightly (as he said he did with BJ the 1st fight), guaranteed that isnt happening this time. Verdict- I hate giving a lame verdict, this fight is so close, i really dont know (but im hoping for GSP), if it ends in the 1st half of the fight, BJ will have his hand raised, and George will be looking up at the lights. If it ends in the 2nd half, it's either GSP's cardio that outlasted BJ and a ground n pound KO, or more likely a solid decision victory, dominating BJ the last 2 rounds (KOing BJ is a very hard thing to do, exchanging with him is ALWAYS dangerous). For the non-hardcore MMA fans, this fight is LEGENDARY!!! But dont, dont, DONT!!!! miss out on the Machida vs Silva fight!!! Both guys are 13-0 and contenders in the toughest division in all of MMA (UFC Lightheavyweight division is STACKED). Machida is sometimes hated for his seeming to run away and wait for a mistake style, but he is DEADLY, he has beaten BJ Penn and Rich Franklin in the past (tho not in the UFC). Silva is a BJJ master, but also a ground and pound murderer (the best since Tito Ortiz in his prime imo), im really pulling hard for Thaigo Silva, if he wins, it will be in brutal fashion, but i wouldnt be shocked to see Machida run a bit, counterpunch, catch Silva and end it. Exciting card!! Those 2 fights alone could be main events on any card, in any organization. Also, Diaz is going to destroy Guida, book it! |

![]() ^Penn got that show cancelled because of the way they were depicting him, I'm sure he is training his ass off to beat GSP.
GSP FTW!!! Despite solid ratings for Spike TV's first installment of the three-part "UFC Primetime: St. Pierre vs. Penn II" series, at least one participant was apparently unhappy with how he was portrayed in the piece. A source close to the show on Tuesday told MMAjunkie.com (www.mmajunkie.com) B.J. Penn recently shut down a taping and interview session for the series and no longer wants involved in the project. Penn was apparently unhappy with how he was portrayed in last week's debut of the series, which hypes a Jan. 31 UFC 94 main event fight between the Hawaiian fighter and UFC welterweight champion Georges St. Pierre. Penn, the UFC's current lightweight title-holder, looks to become the first-ever UFC fighter to hold two belts simultaneously when he fights for St. Pierre's title at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas. "Primetime," a nearly $2 million project that airs in 30-minute blocks on Wednesdays from Jan. 14-28, follows each fighter as he prepares for the fight. During the Jan. 14 debut, Penn was sometimes portrayed as a fighter who didn't take his training too seriously – a reputation that's long dogged the 30-year-old fighter. In the latest taping segment for "Primetime," Penn cut short taping just eight minutes into an interview, the source said. A message left with Penn's publicity representative wasn't immediately returned. The second installment of "UFC Primetime" airs tonight at 10 p.m. EST/PST on Spike TV. Last week's "Primetime" debut scored a scored a 0.73 household rating and had an average audience of 880,000 viewers during its initial run at 10 p.m. EST/PST. An immediate replay that aired at 10:30 p.m. EST/PST scored a 0.53 rating with 614,000 viewers. It currently ranks as the highest-rated "UFC Countdown" show in UFC and Spike TV history. www.mmajunkie.com |

![]() Penn knows how to hype a fight, all this BS about wanting to kill GSP and all the other disrespectful steriod talk and such is just to hype the fight, sell some tickets and get in GSPs head. I have never seen Penn disrespectful during or after a fight. Make no mistake UFC encourages it's fighters to talk shit and sell tickets, they depicted BJ as the villian to get hype, its smart but gives a WWEish feel to some of the events which i hate. Like after GSP beat Fitch BJ came in the ring and challenged him. But everybody knows BJ doesnt have the power to make matches, he already talked with Dana White (UFC President) to get the fight set up if GSP won that night, and go into the ring and "challenge" George, making it look like spur of the moment, but really both fighters knew about it... i dont like these theatrics as i think it takes away from the purest sport there is.

![]() It's always on Justin.tv, the same place we watch some Raptors games on TSN2, the problem is, UFC is one of the best sports in the world at getting illegal feeds down. So the feed usually gets moved several times during the fight and you may miss some actions and most feeds arent that good.
I would recommend hitting up a bar it will be on at (depending where you live) and pulling my style, the nurse a beer (i mean come on, beer is for breakfast), for a couple hours move :P |

![]() St-Pierre to dramatically outweigh Penn
UFC welterweight champion Georges St-Pierre could be over 15 pounds heavier than lightweight champion BJ Penn come Saturday at UFC 94 in Las Vegas. When asked last week what weights each champ expects to be when they step in the Octagon for the fight, St-Pierre said he'll be at 185-187 pounds while Penn answered that he'll probably be on the dot at 170 pounds. Since the fight is for the welterweight belt, both fighters will not have the one-pound allowance and will have to make weight Friday afternoon at the limit of 170 pounds. Penn, a former welterweight champ, considers this an advantage though, as he doesn't have to cut to make weight. |

![]() Penn says lots, thats how you know he's scared stiff.
GSP is going to kill the guy this time, Penn has done very little improving since the first fight, GSP is not anywhere close to the same guy. It would be horrible if Penn won for me, but I'm pretty sure his mouth is doing the best fighting this time around |

![]() believe me SJ, BJ can back up everything he says, but all that talk is BS, he just plays a role. Give him credit, he could just stay in his division and own for the next few years, run up the most title defenses ever (altho i still want to see him vs Florian) and retire. But he wants to move up 15 pounds and become the 1st guy to hold 2 belts at once (btw, he was the 1st to win belts at different weight classes, Randy was 2nd).
Alot of ppl get fooled by how he looks, how his voice sounds, the undefined body and his big mouth, but he can flat out go. He is probably the most naturally gifted fighter i have ever seen in any form of combat. Now ppl are claiming he is in top shape, watch out!! I want GSP very badly to win, but im very nervous, but i dont think BJ is. |

![]() I know what he can do.
I just think he ha too much to say, and I hope when the fight is over, if GSP wins, he DOESN'T give this guy credit or ask the crowd to dismiss his pre fight talk like he did for Sera. Penn has taken it too far, he's not acting professional if you ask me...but then, he IS acting professional and making a big stir...it's all good, its all show biz. ![]() |
