i don't really want to wade into this debate, but are you serious man? david duval ring a bell? one little nagging problem - back, wrist, knee, ankle, elbow, shoulder, neck - can end a career in golf. it doesn't have to be catastrophically painful, it just has to weaken something. golf is about precision and perfection. a slight tweek can be the end of it. golfers worry about it all the time. don't kid yourself.

Not to mention there's a ton more money to be made in professional golf then they'll ever me in MMA.

Like I said, from a feasible standpoint it's alot easier to train and become a fighter than it will ever be to get your pro card to golf in the PGA. Anyone who says otherwise is kidding themselves.

I can tell not many MMA fans here, MMA is the quickest growing sport in the world btw, give it time and the $ will be there.

To say David Duval has the same worries on the golf course as GSP does in the ring, thats more then a joke. To say its easy to train to become a professional fighter, well thats more then a joke. Yes these little rich kids that have daddy pay for them to play golf (and dont deny its a rich mans game) are obviously tough as nails. I wont post on this subject anymore cuz its laughable. Hand to hand combat has been a sport since the beginning of sport, in the 1st olympics and beyond, golf... meh. You really think golfers are better athletes then MMA fighters? In better physical shape? You literally have to train everyday to fight MMA, and thats blood, sweat and tears, not driving around a range on a golf cart.

To say golf is harder is a joke, its leisurely, theres a few players that are in great shape and alot that are in decent shape and a few that are kinda chubby or outright fat. You dont worry about your career ending in golf at any given moment, or grave physical harm.

You all think its harder? lol, get in the ring with a professional fighter for 3 min, no longer, and you will all sing a different tune, thats why its the purest sport out there. You dont just risk $ or embarrassment, you risk physical health. Any moron can fight, true, and get his ass kicked, same as any moron can pick up a golf club and suck ass at it.

I bet theres a few MMA fighters that are decent golfers, i bet theres no golfers that are decent MMA fighters.
Heh.

The planet is full of Athletes who have played one sport or another, thousands, and have tried to make it in the golf world.

Guess how many have been Successful, I mean , even at the Nationwide level.

ZERO!

Real easy sport it must be.

i don't think you guys give enough credit to the training these martial artist put into their different styles of fighting. i'd put them second to gymnastics in terms of overall athleticism and dedication.

regardless

golf isn't a sport. it's a challenge against yourself. you don't have to overcome the obstacles of opponents.

and neither is MMA

it's martial arts

disgraceful martial arts :O

don't put words in my mouth ugo. i didn't say golfers were tough. i just debated the idea that "you don't worry about your career ending in golf". your words pal, and they're flat out wrong. you clearly have a hard-on for mma, that's fine. all i'm saying is that there are significant injuries in golf. these injuries may not be broken bones, but they sure as hell are career enders. don't be a douche.

Sorry if i came across rude to you in a personal way, i just have strong opinoons. Obviously im taking on many like minded people on this topic so i won't try to take on the board, but what i said i feel is true, i really dont think golfers run around nearly as worried about injuries, but obviously they could happen.

On the MMA thing.

I give the guys who train like mad TONNES of credit, mutual respect as a guy who has trained for a sport.

Thing is, a guy can step into the ring, and take out the best in any certain weight class, and he may never had been in the ring in his life.

It's fighting.

It's a competition to see who can inflict the most devastaing violent damage to the other guy whithin a certain time span.

no they're not. they're competitions. what obstacles that their opponents create do they overcome? runners who run in their lane? falling runners? runners wearing better running shoes?

In that case they're rejoicing in gay bath houses everywhere.

Maybe they'll make it a demonstration sport in 2012?

If you really think a guy with no MMA training can get in the ring and beat a champion, wow, thats ridiculously ignorant.
