Default Which of the top 3 toronto GM's has the toughest job?

Brian Burke- Everything he does is under the microscope and disected.

Bryan Colangelo- Difficult to sign high end talent and selling them on playing here which limits his options.

Alex Anthopolous- No real salary cap, but the owners don't seem to want to spend, selling high end talent on playing here is a bit difficult, some don't want to play on turf in front of 15,000 fans. Hardest sport to make the playoffs.

I think Colangelo is facing the hardest task by far.

Burke's issue is finding guys that can handle playing in Toronto, it's REALLY hard on players for a number of reasons.

Yeah they all three have issues. And imo, all have trouble signing high end talent. But BC I think has the hardest job to try and convince top talent to play here.

the thing about basketball though is that a team can turn it around with one or two big additions. not saying that makes Colangelo's job any easier. well i am kind of. The difficulty comes in finding said player(s).

The other sports are more about balance and team building if you ask me.

I used to agree, but now i find this point misses the mark. Playing for the Leafs is the same like playing for the Knicks in NY, the Lakers in LA, the celtics in Boston, the Yankees, The Redsox, pretty much every NFL team. It's the same for any big market team in any league.

I think he has that issue. Who was the last big name FA to sign here for them? To a lesser degree of course but it's an issue imo. Some big names don't want to come here because of the scrutiny which also limits his options. Plus the perception of the leafs as a franchise right now isn't great. I think the perception of the Jays is the best of the three, but they play in the hardest division in baseball.

I think Hockey players handle the stress worse, because I think they care more and feel more guilt

i think you're on your own with that one. while i agree that hockey players tend to be more 'stand up-ish' and represent themselves in a more team minded light, i don't think that makes them handle stress any worse.

All tough jobs hard to compare. Burke had inherited basically a farm team, BC will always have the stigma due to uneducated ballers thinking Toronto is a wasteland and AA well has to deal with the two riches teams in his own division.

Personally with the lack of playoff spots and the fact he has to deal with two HUGE teams in his divisions I'd give the hardest job to AA.

BC has a tough job because he's not that good

Burke and AA had little to work with when they came in but AA has a very difficult job in making the playoffs with 3 of the best teams in baseball in his own division

He had more than both AA and BB for sure... AA had the worst to start with by a landslide though. JP fucked that team up horribly. AA has done an amazing job just to get them where they are.

BB had the least to work with. He had JFJ mess and only Fletcher did a little caretaking done. BC had complete cap space and a clean slate. I'd say AA had more to work with than you think.

Lind
Arencibia
Romero

Are all JP products.

JP wasn't as big of a loser as we all thought
