Not sure where this should go so I put it here.

FHP: Tiger Woods Injured In Crash Outside Home - Orlando News Story - WESH Orlando

Quote:

WINDERMERE, Fla. -- WESH 2 News has learned that golfer Tiger Woods was injured when he hit a fire hydrant and then a tree outside his Isleworth home early on Friday morning.
The Florida Highway Patrol said Woods was injured in the crash, which took place at about 2:30 a.m., and was taken to Health Central Hospital. The Orange County Fire Department confirmed that a patient was taken to Health Central, but would not confirm that the patient was Woods.
A source told WESH 2 News that Woods has been treated for facial lacerations.
Woods was driving a 2009 black Cadillac Escalade when he lost control and hit a fire hydrant outside his home and a tree outside his neighbor's home, FHP said.
FHP said the crash is still under investigation. It said alcohol did not play a role in the crash, but that charges are pending.

wow. i hope he's ok.

Benzo 11-27-2009 02:54 PM

2:30 a.m after Thanksgiving...am I being a cynic when I question "alcohol was not involved"?

INSIDER 11-27-2009 02:57 PM

maybe he was sleepy after eating a lot of turkey and fell asleep at the wheel.
its possible.

Acie 11-27-2009 03:00 PM

I hope he's okay too.

How fast was he going...down his own street?

Windex 11-27-2009 03:07 PM

I heard that he wasn't in the hospital right now, maybe he was Ok to leave

INSIDER 11-27-2009 03:15 PM

well anytime you get a superstar in your hospital, they make sure that they get the greatest treatment the world can offer... so he would have been there for hours even if it was just a papercut, just for precautions.

A majority of accidents happen within a pretty small radius of your home. People relax and get distracted easier. Yep - learnt that in driver's ed.

jeffb 11-27-2009 03:24 PM

He's now been released from Hospital with facial lacerations, and it appears that it's not as serious as previously thought. This according to CNN via the Mayor of Wyndermere (whoever that is?)

INSIDER 11-27-2009 04:07 PM

granny thats not cool man.
easy on the hate. they are just getting theirs, you shouldnt hate on someone for that.
its bad karma.

fancylad 11-27-2009 04:10 PM

and fingers crossed why exactly?

What does anyone stand to gain from Tiger not playing golf? why do you even care anyways? other than your morbid amusement from someone's pain. Does it make you happy to know others are suffering?

I'm not a golf fan, but he does bring some excitement to the sport.
i would hope he recovers and not because i care about golf.

the guys an elitist scumbag, there is no karma for no giving a shit when high profile celebs get hurt. There's probably more karma coming towards the ones that grieve for them. If you love watching golf i could see how you might be worried
