A little Polish Pride there fancy?

She's a damn good player. Good for her.

Nadal getting all he can handle from Dmitrov right now too... down a set (3-6) and tied 4-4 in the 2nd.

A little bit... sure. i don't really like supporting someone just because they're from a certain country, but in this case and in the case of bouchard ok i admit it yes i am cheering for them because of their backgrounds.

I cheered for Radwanska because I couldn't handle another second of that shit noise Azarenka makes. How the fuck does she get away with such a blatant aim to distract? Because she stops a millisecond before her opponent strikes the ball?

And Nadal? He came through. Federer will be fighting to remain the best player in Swissland. He needs to make the finals to do that, and then beat Stan if Stan beats Berdych. That could be a pretty great battle. I think Wawrinka has a major coming to him. I'm pulling for Nadal though, so he can get the double career grand slam. Not bad for just a clay court specialist.

Edberg is certainly earning his money as a coach. Roger looks like the Roger of 3-4 years ago when he still had that air of invincibility about him. It'll be put to the test against Rafa.

SO psyched that we finally get another Roger/Rafa classic!

Good lord.... Roger plays the most idiotic, pig-headed brand of tennis whenever he meets Rafa. Same damn thing over & over again.

You have success against Nadal when you work his backhand... not when you set up his forehand so he can crush it past you for winners. I just don't understand it.... it's as though he didn't even watch Dmitrov in the previous round (who gave a great peek into what you need to do to give Rafa trouble).

Edberg's going to earn his money now... that's for sure. What a disappointing match. Looked more like an execution.

Nadal had a ton of backhand winners. There really is no secret to beating Nadal when his ground strokes are this good and aggressive, aside from Djokovic being able to return everything with even more oomph, and he has to be able to be at his very best to break Rafa's will with his abilities.

When you give Rafa confidence (like any great player) it's all over.... but make no mistake the backhand is the key to beating him. Look at most, if not all of the matches that he's either lost or really been pushed recently.... it's because players punished him repeatedly there and didn't allow him to get that crushing forehand going.

I'll be interested to see if Stan makes a point of going after this in the final.

He hasn't been pushed by anyone other than Novak in the last year, and that was more about jumping on his serve, and he still didn't beat him, or push him all that much really.

He was certainly pushed last round against Dmitrov.

Watching Raonic play now, don't know much about tennis, but from what I can see he is really strong. His arm is like a cannon, his positioning seems to be off too often though. Again I'm not an expert, so I could be wrong

He still needs work with his foot work and his backhand, but he has come a long way, even from this time last year. He still goes through stretches where it seems impossible that he could be an 8th seed, but now he often goes through stretches where he looks like he could give anyone trouble. Loving how he is going to the net more. And he is thinking and feeling his way through matches nicely. It's not just about hoping to somehow make it through any rally that goes beyond 5 strokes. He can take control of rallies now beyond the effects of his serve.
