Surprisingly looking forward to the women's final today ... can't pick someone to root for as they are both worth cheering for ... oh well. Will just cheer every point. Damn, life is hard.

Now, I'd say Djokovic is next to take that BIG step. He had some really good matches this year and on the hardcourt he's an unbelievable player and quickly becoming one of my favourites. Simon, Tsonga and Murray are there and will win their fair share but for at least one more tennis season federer will be amongst the top and then slowly slide down. I think Nadal is the next real thing.
From the 1st page of the thread... back in 2008.... kudos to Claudius. Pretty much bang on.

I've already anointed him the best ever, but he still amazes me. So much fight in him. Such mental toughness. I cannot believe this set isn't over in favor of the guy in red, or that it looks like it won't even require tiebreak.

Some nice fight from Roger, but it's such a tough slog now. Remember when what made life difficult for him was not being able to break Nadal? Now he can break him and it's still so hard for him to take a set.

You know, it really irritates me when Johnny Mac keeps talking about the most titles ever won and how Rafa is going to catch up and pass that mark of 17 because, let's be honest, does anyone really think that that's going to happen? I'm a huge Rafa fan and I think there's a slim chance of it happening.

I think it's entirely possible if he can maintain a good level of play for another five years. But what I think is more important than the quantity, is the quality of all his wins over truly great competition.
