Canada up 2-1 on Mexico in Davis Cup action. Raonic can win it for Canada tomorrow.

Milos Raonic lost to Ryan Harrison at the ATP 1000 tournament in Indian Wells. Good match. Bah to the outcome.

Just wanted to let you know that it's a Rafa-Roger semi-final tonight at 7 p.m.

(Now off to bed after feeding the kid.)

Rafa against Djokovic was a pretty fantastic final match. It could be an interesting year for Novak.

Could feel the ulcer getting progressively worse the longer the match went on. Terrific tennis.

Will Roger ever be number one again? Kinda sad.

Never say never, but I don't see it happening (not being a hater or anything). Nadal and Djokovic are playing way to well right now.

Will be interesting to see how the clay and grass court seasons go. I'm expecting Rafa and Roger to start playing well again (sad that they are so good that losing in the semis and/or finals is considered a "bad" result).

Roger just isn't in the same class as Nadal and Djokovic right now. Those guys make each other hit two or three extra shots after what appears to be clear-cut winners. It's insane. Roger just ends up being on defense too much, while the other two guys continue to play incredibly strong mentally no matter what, and can instantly turn defense into offense.

Djokovic won a lot of points on long rallies yesterday. That's all mental. Federer has never really had to go to the same depths of mental toughness to win, and I question whether he can do it. He can still win if all the planets align just so, but I don't see him being able to win enough to be number one. I could see some other players developing that mental toughness to make the jump eventually - players on the upswing of their physical abilities.

I'll say this for Djokovic. His fitness has improved substantially in the past year or so. My father was just waiting for Djokovic's asthma to start acting up again but nothing. He has turned it up a notch, for sure.

The new rivalry is Nadal - Djokovic. I love Federer but I think he is finally slipping mentally and phisically wich is normal after so many years. Nole has been the best of the world so far this year.

Agreed. Kudos to Novak. He's looked fantastic. I'm glad that it's him rather than Murray. lol.

Bel, are you watching the Monte Carlo finals? Two Spaniards. Both awesome. Good times.

LOL ... oh Bel, I'm so sorry.

What are your thoughts on Ferrer, by the way? I know you're not the biggest Verdasco fan (he made some comments about Raonic and now I don't much care for him either ... shh, don't judge), but Ferrer seems like a good guy. Certainly plays a lovely game of tennis.

Yeah, no fan of Verdasco at all for various reason. This being one of them:

Ferrer seems like a pretty modest guy and has a beatiful game but as most spanish players in the tennis world, he is mentally weak. Crumbles pretty easily and can be so frustrating to watch. Just the contrary of Nadal who honestly is the only one of the spanish players who I trully enjoy watching.

It almost felt like Nadal was trying to be nice and allowing him to stay close and respectable.

I'm watching the Nadal-Monfils match at Barca now and Rafa is looking much sharper in this match than he was looking in the final versus Ferrer, in my opinion.

Just watched Rafa dissect Federer in Madrid. Roger actually had his moments, but Nadal's power eventually got to him. It's on to the Finals against Djokovic or some unknown Brazilian. Djokovic is down one set and even in the second.
