Latvia deserves a lot of credit for their performance tonight, gave Canada everything they had, just way out talented. Only way Latvia was going to score is if they got a lucky breakaway and put it in the net in the 3rd period.
They had some decent looks on net in the final 5 minutes.

true, couple solid chances after it was 2-1. WHen it was 1-1, it was all Canada putting the pressure on.

Jeff, seriously? I mean, I'm not a huge fan of hockey either and 90% of the time I secretly agree with you in terms of your view of it, but you're coming across as a bit of a dick right now.

What happened on those calls ?...something about a Latvian defenceman picking up a puck in the crease ?...twice ?

And ya congrats to the Canadian women...that was a hell of a run...if i recall correctly they edged out the Americans ?

A Latvian defensemen fell on his goalie during a huge scrum in the crease, the puck was sliding over the goal-line just behind the goalie's arm and just in the knick of time the player covered the puck and slid it back out. It was quite the play - and quite illegal. There was a play later where the Latvian player who had been taken down in the crease moved the puck back out with his hand, but he didn't really cover it I don't think so I'm not sure if that was illegal.

Well i haven't seen the US play...but looking at their roster i think they are much stronger/bigger up front...and have better goaltending
Price looked awful to me today and since he got today's start i'll assume they are going with him the rest of the way

Don't get me wrong, i want Team Canada to beat the Americans (that's more important than a Gold medal for me)...but i just don't see it happening

Here's hoping i'm wrong

Wasn't the last Olympics like this. Canada struggles a bit, beats Swiss in the shootout to advance. US looks good and Canada still wins in the end. USA is a damn good team but Canada will show up against them and it'll be close.
