will somebody just delete this thread

zachus 06-29-2009 01:50 PM

She's bankrupt too!

The only openly gay athlete? There was a football player who came out of the closet a while back, can't remember his name though...

'trane 06-29-2009 01:51 PM

why are we re-printing a story from 2005? who cares?

Acie 06-29-2009 01:52 PM

I thought Cynthia Cooper was the female Michael Jordan.

'trane 06-29-2009 01:55 PM

holy shit is that ever a ridiculous and insensitive post b-rad. you are a homophobe, and homophobes are not welcome here. clean up your act. these are human beings with every right to practice sport and participate as you would.

do you really need to tell us that you wouldn't beat them? and if they did make a pass at you, you would? fuck man, get a grip.

Hands down one of the most ignorant things I've read here in a while. :cwm34:

Your walking a fine line once again B-Rad. :face4:

+1...Great post! I'm glad that RF speaks out against offensive posts.

spenda 06-29-2009 08:39 PM

Swoopes is a top-10 female athlete of all time, so it has a bigger impact than some back-up in the NBA coming out 10 years after his retirement.

I could care less about her sexual preference, same as if my favorite male athlete came out it would not make me like him any less or more.

Dark Knight 06-29-2009 08:47 PM

Dawn, B-Rad, you should've really considered what you was posting before you actually did. I mean, come on man. Did you not read the RF rules or something? IMO you might be very close to being banned for that one.

B-RAD 06-30-2009 01:04 AM

once again i really need to learn how to word things properly. i was just asking a question trying to pass the time. i don't have a problem with sheryll. hell, i don't even know her. but, to say i'm a homophobe and homophobes aren't welcome that is harsh. it's not right to say that is called "discluding" and it's not very nice. i'm sorry that i have a condition where homo-sexuals bother me and i have to point them out. i'll exclude my opinion on gay's unless asked. i think i suffer from multiple personalities disorder too. probably, giant douchebag syndrome to everyone here.

I wouldn't call that a condition at all. I'd just say that you were raised terribly and you weren't taught the proper meaning of tolerance and equality.

so you shun entire religions that preach to the young that homosexuality is a sin, immoral and unnatural??

It's not as simple as calling one person out, there are MILLIONS of ppl that are taught this since childhood, by ppl they should trust more then they trust you. I dont feel the way b-rad does, but i know many good ppl that do, it's a tough spot to be in.

Why even bring that up?

(don't respond becuase i think i know the answer).

Dude says something derogatory about gay people and then gets reacted to in a totally reasonable manner.

But seriously, bringing in religion really has no place in the discussion here.

Ugo Ferst 06-30-2009 08:57 AM

well what b-rad said is erased, i thought he said he wouldnt feel comfortable playing along side gays, which to me, is reasonable. To say somebody that feels that way is a homophobe, is to say any practicing catholic (such as myself) is not welcome here because we deem homosexuality an abberation and a sin. But, i do not condone harming one because of it, hate the sin, not the sinner imo

i really dont want a big thing about it, i wont post on the topic anymore

Superjudge 06-30-2009 12:08 PM

Interesting Topic.

I work at ProudFM. I just finished Pride week. Wow, good times.

As for playing ball with Gay guys. Whatevs.

I did however think that playing ball with Magic Johnson would have been a little scary. We were discussing this today here at the station. Basketball is a contact sport, ad there's a lot of blood some games, HIV is a scary thing for obvious reasons.

Anyhow, Sheryl Swoops is a good player.

Good for her when she came out publicly.
