Yup. They have a crap product but make the most money in the league.
Other successful teams like the Yankees and Lakers actually win. Lets see if they can sell out games without making the playoffs for a decade and no title in 50 years.

"Successful" is a very subjective word.

They are the most valuable hockey franchise:

I'm sure a mathematician could graph "Number of Wins" vs "Revenue" and the Leafs would be far away in the lead.

And I get the "Playoff Revenue" argument. I always likened it to having a 649 ticket with a million dollar winner on it. YE HAA!!! I"M RICH!! But you still check those other numbers. And if you win another $25, there is still a bit of a cheer.

That scenario is only 4 years from now!! My guess is they will still be selling out and ticket prices will be 30% higher than present.

leafs are the reason why the Cap system is so successful. The whole league can take a deuce on the leafs and money still rolls in for the league

Hockey, of course....no contest. And I'm not disputing that they're one of the most financially successful teams in north america. But I would say the knicks of all teams would be ahead of them in wins vs revenue department. They've had way worse seasons then the Loafs the last 6-7 years and they are always right up there in attendance and their revenue is massive in the largest market in north america and they have a more global brand. Then there is the Yankees, Red Sox and a lot of the NFL.

Stop involving yourself in topics to do with a sport you hate, and a team you do nothing but rag on.

Nahhh, and if you don't like it ignore me. My post is about more than just hockey and it was a civil post. I no longer go into the hockey thread, like I said ...don't like it ignore me.

I can't believe I'm going to say this, but I'm going to side with Jeff.

Saying they're the most successful team in North America is exaggerating just a bit. You can't really argue the wins v. revenue argument either because a team like the Washington Redskins are top 5 in terms of overall team value and really only win what? six games? seven games? They haven't seen the playoffs in years either.

The Leafs are the most profitable (possibly) Canadian franchise. Not North America. Not even globally. The game just doesn't have the global draw that Soccer, F1 and the NFL have. That's where your money is.

Yeah globally it's soccer, basketball and the beyond that I'm not sure. How does the NFL do beyond North America?
