fight is scheduled in mid december, going tobe absolutely nuts, the 2 most recognizable boxers in the world right now will face off in a 100 million dollar match. 50 mill for the golden boy and possibly 25+mill for the pac man.
this is Dela Hoyas last match and it's pretty safe to say this will be the best match in decades. Pacquaio has been moving up weight classes like crazy, it's quite shocking to know that he started his boxing career 10 years ago at 106lbs, going into this fight he has to make weight of at least 147lbs. Dela Hoya on the other usually fights higher weightclasses and this will be the lightest he's ever been since he won gold medal back in 94. Pacquaio who many consider as the #1 pound for pound boxer in the world will definitely have a hard time with Oscar as Oscar has a 4 inch height advantage and a 6 inch reach advantage. Pacquiao though has the youth(29), speed, and enough power to knock down Dela Hoya. My prediction for this $50 fight.....Pacquaio wins by TKO in the 11th. |

this will go into a decision as usual.
dela hoya will dance around the ring and avoid manny all night... then when the decision is announced and dela hoya loses, he'll be all surprised and complain. sigh. |

So many Oscar haters for what now, 10 years? But he always puts up a good fight and basically never gets totally dominated, he wont be here, but i agree, boxing sucks, its a joke, put them in an MMA fight and they wont last a round.
Again, fighting is the purest sport, the oldest sport and will always be a popular sport. |

I don't have any hate for De La Hoya, but I would like to see Pac Man take this fight, just to finally put and end (a real end) to De La Hoya overstaying his welcome in the ring. I don't know though, Pac Man's moved around a lot in weight... |

True, Oscar did step up in weight to fight Bernard and you have to wonder who gave him advice on that one. Sure, step up, but get a few fights there before you go after a guy who backs up his nickname. That body shot was serious, but I'm still not sure it was serious enough to knock out Oscar. I think he saw the road the rest of that fight was going and he shut'er down. I still don't think Oscar was in that fight.
Pac Man gets in trouble when he has to box. If he's in a brawl, that's his game. That's how he ended up beating Marco Antonio Barrera (one of my all time faves, along with Hopkins). Barrera can brawl with the best of them when he has to, but by that point, I think his constant brawls with Morales had taken their toll. Either way, should be an interesting bout. |
