lol I said that cuz I don't want to jinx it Deep down I know Canada is gonna win but by telling everyone that I usually jinx it and we lose. That's why xD

this was the best hockey that i can remember.

such an awesome tournament.

I really hope the NHL continues to send its players to the olympics. I am a huge fan of the big international sports tournaments and the Olympics is it for hockey. I know they tried that world cup thing, but ever since they changed it from the Canada cup it really has lost most of its significance (I swear everything Bettman touches just turns to shit). The Olympics is the real world cup of hockey, just like it is for basketball. It would really suck to lose that.

Stay away from Fan590 for a while.

I'll update you on the chatter.

1) Canada Hockey is best ever

2) Every Canadian Player is best player on their team

3) There was no way we were going to lose

Great goal by Crosby, but if USA had scored, the three topics would be:

1) How do we fix this mess?

2) Why was so-and-so on the team?

3) Will we ever win another Gold medal ever?

Canadian Hockey persons are dictionary bi-polar.

I find the FAN from 6:00 am through to 2:00 to be hockey overkill all the time - well before the Olympics even.

That being said, i don't mind it today and look forward to the the media response (for a couple of days at least). I'm still on such a high from that game.

Another thing, you gotta wonder what the ratings were for the game... I'm thinking the most watched even in Canadian TV history.

in US

Quote:
As you might expect, the U.S.-Canada gold medal game was a smash hit on television, drawing a 17.6 overnight rating.

"To put the numbers in perspective, Sunday's game drew a higher overnight rating than every World Series game since 2004 (including every game of Yankees/Phillies last year), every NBA Finals telecast since 1998, and every NCAA Men's Basketball Final Four game since at least '98,'' according to Sports Media Watch.

that's in the USA?!

wow.

that's great for the sport. especially considering how dramatic and entertaining that game was.

I wonder if the number was higher in Canada?

Alot of Americans are discussing it with class actually and a lot of Canadians are calling and congratulating him. Just being done with a lot of class and doing a good job of staying in the middle. He's got Mike Babcock coming up and the Jeremy Roenick.

Some of the Americans calling in (guy from LA, another from 'Bama) saying that while they don't typically go out of their way to watch it, that game got them interested in it and they never realized how intense it could get.

Pretty much what happened in the world Jrs, Canada goes undefeated and USA beats them in the finals.

USA goes undefeated and Canada breaks their hearts, what a rivalry. but then again we are going to see one hell of a russian team in 2014.

Am I the only one who liked the WJCs more than the Olympics?

No doubt last night's game was awesome.... but for my money those 2 Jr. games between CAN and the USA were probably 2 of the best games that I've ever seen in my life.

The States are going to be a serious power in 2014.

i think you're on you own TO.

Well just to clarify, it's not my intention to take anything away from the junior or the entertainment of those matches, but the Olympics to me mean way, way more. It's truly the best and biggest championship in the world. It's all in the meaning and purpose, my friend. The world juniors don't even compare IMO.

It's like the FIFA under 20 tourny. Like some of those games were really entertaining, but it doesn't even compare to the real FIFA world cup. not even close.
